This afternoon, I administered the oath of office to the new Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, having been confirmed by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I wish Dr Darma well in this role and urge him to vigorously pursue and implement our Housing Anna Urban Development vision under the Renewed Hope Agenda. ~ PBAT

Nigeria is for global peace and stability and for its friends and partners anywhere. I am particularly concerned by the attacks on UAE's civilian and economic infrastructure. I reaffirm my support and solidarity to the President of UAE and the measures he took to safeguard civilian populations and critical infrastructure.

The commissioning of the Nigeria Revenue Service Headquarters is a clear sign of our reform agenda. We’re strengthening our institutions, improving efficiency and laying the groundwork for sustained economic growth and stability. Congratulations @NigeriaRevenue

The Nigeria Revenue Service @NigeriaRevenue under the stewardship of Dr Zacch Adedeji has evolved to be a strong pillar of our administration’s drive to build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria. Today’s commissioning of their new Headquarters, which had been left abandoned for more than two decades across several administrations, has set a new standard for continuity, discipline, and results in governance. We did not inherit excuses. We inherited responsibilities. And we will continue doing everything possible to meet them. This is what reform looks like. Institutions being strengthened. Revenues secured and rising. Confidence returning and restored. We will continue to rebuild, reform, and deliver for the Nigerian people. Well done to Zacch, the NRS Team, the Bureau of Public Procurement, and every partner who made this possible in record time. Standing in Bayelsa today, what I saw was more than infrastructure. The New Yenagoa City Road 1 is about access. The Angiama–Oporoma Bridge is about connection. The Bayelsa Independent Power Project is about opportunity. At every level, government must stay focused on what works for people and our administration will continue to collaborate with states serious about putting people first. When we do this, we are not just building projects. We are building confidence in our future as a people and as a nation. I must commend Governor Duoye Diri for putting the people first. From the reports I have received, our armed forces have been conducting sustained, intense land and air offensives against the insurgents, neutralising many terrorist fighters and commanders. The insurgents’ counterattack is a sign of desperation.   I extend my condolences to the families of our gallant soldiers, led by  Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of our country in Borno State.   The government will never forget their sacrifices. Their sacrifices will not be in vain. Because of the courage and dedication of our troops on the frontline, our resolve to defeat terrorism and all forms of violence across Nigeria is stronger than ever.   I urge the Military High Command and our troops in all theatres of operation: Do not lose heart, do not be weary, do not be discouraged.   Our officers and men should continue to serve with honour, courage, and patriotism. The government will always stand by the Armed Forces, provide more of the equipment needed and ensure the welfare of all who risk their lives for our safety.   I urge Nigerians and the media to continue to support our Military in their relentless battle against insurgency and banditry. We should desist from celebrating or condoning the attacks against our troops. These soldiers are our heroes; unforgettable and irreplaceable.   My condolences also go to the government and people of Borno State. In Ogun State, I also commissioned a new Nigeria Customs Service hub which is a complete ecosystem with barracks, a training college, a warehouse, and a hospital. I returned to Ogun State today with a full heart. What I saw in Iperu is the kind of progress we must insist on as a nation. Quite deliberate, and built to last. The Gateway Cargo Airport stands as proof of what is possible when vision is matched with discipline. As I said, “Our investment is about our people. Today’s foundation is for tomorrow’s prosperity.” I acknowledge Governor Dapo Abiodun @DapoAbiodunCON for his focus and consistency. Development is not about noise. It is about decisions that improve lives. From the aircraft launched today to the electric bikes, tractors, and security assets, this is what progress should look like. Practical, real, and visible. “Development must touch every level,” and I am pleased to see that principle taking shape in Ogun State. Our Renewed Hope reforms are not abstract. They have provided more resources for sub-nationals and are creating room for states to act and deliver. Many states, including Ogun, are rising to the moment. This afternoon, I spent time with stakeholders and victims of the recent terror incident in Jos, Plateau State. No amount of money can bring back the dead, but the Federal Government will do our best to comfort them, walk with them and provide necessary assistance. Rhoda Favour, I feel your pain but no matter what we say, we cannot bring Ayuba back. We will find the perpetrators of this dastardly acts. I have postponed my trip to Iperu, Ogun State. My first duty at this moment is to stand with the people of Plateau. I will be in Jos to commiserate with families who have lost loved ones and to reaffirm that those who seek to spread fear will not prevail. We will continue to strengthen our security response and ensure that justice is done. From Plateau, I will proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday, and then continue with scheduled engagements in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa focused on infrastructure, trade, and economic growth. On this my 74th birthday, I celebrate the valiant men and women of our Armed Forces. Today, I have directed the Accountant-General of the Federation to establish a special account for a fund dedicated to those who serve, those wounded in the line of duty, and the families of those who have paid the ultimate price. As a personal commitment, all my salaries since assuming office will be paid into this account as seed funding, irrespective of existing insurance and welfare schemes for members of our armed forces. This fund will directly support those who have lost their limbs, and the widows, widowers, and children of those who laid down their lives in service to our dear country. I call on our Governors, members of the National Assembly, the private sector, my friends and all well-wishers to support this initiative. Details of the account will be made available in due course. We must never forget those who stand in harm’s way for our peace, nor the sacrifices borne by their families. This is not charity. It is duty. And we will fulfil it. My dear fellow Nigerians, Today, as I clock another year in the journey of life, I'm filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity given me to serve this great nation. I want to take this moment to thank Nigerians for their messages, show of love and prayers on the occasion of my 74th birthday. I thank all our citizens for their patriotism, solidarity and support for our administration. To those who have taken space in newspapers or paid for air time on radio and television to wish me well, I thank you immensely. I must thank my wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, for her kind and loving words. I also thank Vice President Kashim Shettima for all he said about me. Consistent with my tradition over the years to mark my birthday in line with the mood of the nation each year, I resolved to also observe this year's birthday low key. As I mark this special day, I am reminded of the challenges we've faced since we initiated our reforms. I'm glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel, despite the temporary setback caused by ongoing Middle East crisis. The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me, our Renewed Hope team and to our government. We achieved the gains together. As Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and give thanks to Almighty God for guiding us through the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan, alongside the season of Lent, has taught us enduring lessons in patience, tolerance, sacrifice, and neighbourliness. These are not seasonal virtues. They are the foundation upon which we must continue to build our nation. We have embraced the principles of giving, peace, love for country, and kindness to one another. Now, we must live them. Let us continue to assist the needy, support the vulnerable, and remain our brother’s keeper. Good behaviour, good neighbourliness, and compassion for all must define us beyond this period. I pray for peace across our country. Stability, peace, and security are not the responsibility of one man alone. It is a collective duty. I urge all Nigerians to remain vigilant and to report suspicious movements within their communities. Our safety depends on our shared commitment. The recent news from Maiduguri, Borno State, is profoundly upsetting. I mourn those who lost their lives, sympathise with the injured and stand in solidarity with the people of Borno during this challenging time. I want to make it categorically clear that these acts of terror are the final desperate and frantic attempts by criminals and terrorist elements trying to instil and spread fear, as they are under constant pressure from our brave armed forces and security agencies operating in various theatres. We will continue to intensify our efforts against all criminal elements, wherever they may be. I must commend the courage and fighting spirit of our patriotic troops who successfully repelled the coordinated attacks by these terrorists on military positions in the state. The Monday attacks were desperate acts of the evil-minded terrorist groups. Our gallant military and civilian task forces will curtail and put them down. Just last weekend, during a security meeting with leaders of security and intelligence agencies, I approved additional equipment and operational support to enhance their capabilities. This effort is already in progress. Additionally, I have directed security chiefs to move to Maiduguri to take charge of the situation. I have also directed the emergency agencies to provide proper care for the injured. There is no place in Nigeria where terrorists will find safety. They are mothers who nurture, entrepreneurs who build, professionals who lead, and citizens who continue to shape the destiny of our country with resilience and dignity. Nigeria’s progress has always carried the imprint of women who refused to accept limits placed before them. From those who fought for our democracy to the millions who labour daily to support their families and communities, their contributions to nation-building are profound. I have nominated Mr. Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance and conveyed his name to the Senate for confirmation. Taiwo has served our nation diligently as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, leading the overhaul of our tax system with clarity, courage, and competence. His depth as an economist, accountant, and public policy expert will strengthen our fiscal architecture at a critical time. Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite will continue to serve the nation as Minister of State at the Ministry of Budget and National Planning. Her experience across portfolios remains valuable to our reform agenda.
