It’s a really good question. We’ve spent years building our following on there. If we exit the platform we’re also pulling human art from a place that needs it. In many ways we’re stuck. I believe it’s the platform’s responsibility to change, specially since they have a massive part of the market. If most people used other platforms then it would be easier, but it’s not the case. Let me give you an example, why do people use petrol when we know that it destroys the planet, it’s because we’re stuck in a system. But we’ve considered options, you are asking me something that made me lose sleep. It’s a complexe issue for us and for many artists. And unfortunately we’re not a big enough player, we still release independent on our own imprint. We need big pop stars to pressure the system.

Well it happened, just like I predicted. Last year I started warning people that if musicians kept using AI slop for their artworks and if no regulations were put in place to protect human artists, people would also stop truly caring who makes the music they listen to. Not because AI slop is better than human made music, but simply because AI can invade streaming platforms and social media at an infernal rate. About 40 to 50% of all music distributed per day on streaming platforms is now made with AI. People told me « you’re freaking out, people don’t care about AI music, the plays will never be high on AI gen music » …. WELL the current #1 song on US and global iTunes is AI generated. That song has taken over social media trends, and because nothing has been done to prevent AI slop to enter charts, this song is about to explode. I don’t care what it sounds like, I don’t care if it’s « good » because AI music steals from other artists. But corporations are slow to adjust because they mostly care about money. We need laws quick, and if we can’t find a way to ban AI from the arts, we at least need official certifications that clearly state when the music uses AI, and it needs to happen fast. You might think I’m exaggerating, I’m not. Human made art is crucial in so many ways to keep our foundations alive. I know some of you don’t care about stuff like this, but it’s time to care. It’s time to think about the long term impacts this will have on all of us. Thanks for reading all of this (your attention span is not f*cked yet it seems 😅).

« You’re not gonna win unless… » tells you everything you need to know about this dude. It’s a competition for him. No substance needed. It’s easy to say AI slop will win when you invest in these stupid companies. But for most of us, it’s not a competition. When I create art, I enjoy the process, I enjoy the frustrations, that’s the adventure I’m looking for. Lazy gen AI will always be a soulless process for soulless people, problem is, it seems like the people hyping up this shit, don’t realize their own inability to enjoy a real creative process. They want to remain « relevant » wtv the cost can be to society. The word of the year for 2025 is « slop » which means LOTS of us don’t want this stuff in our lives. Let’s keep resisting 🤝

Just a reminder that if you’re going through some stuff at the moment, it’s ok to feel momentarily defeated. It’s normal to have days where things truly don’t go your way. But you have to learn from these moments. Learning from what seems to be a failure now, is the most human thing. We all fail, we all learn. ❤️
