I attended Alpha recently and it’s clear that - for better or worse - Gumble’s lot are the future. They are confident, get stuff done, and attract the £££.

I liked Devs a lot but someone sees something shocking in it and has to rush to the bathroom to throw up. This only ever happens in film and TV drama. I have only ever had to rush to the bathroom to throw up when I've eaten old prawns.

@lose_all_faith @giles_fraser @unherd @nickygumbel I’ve heard Christian responses along the lines of, “God’s in the suffering with us, he knows what it is to be human through Jesus.” I’ve never found that convincing, so I remain a reluctant non-believer; the issue of suffering is just too fundamental.
