If Bradley Cooper's "Maestro" left you with more questions than answers, you must see "Bernstein's Wall," Douglas Tirola's fantastic documentary about Leonard Bernstein. It opens at @FilmForum on Friday 4/24. bit.ly/4txgtxk

It wouldn't be the first time David and I both got it right.

@OwenGleiberman It's really interesting that you and David Rooney, doing the two flagship trade reviews, have been measured and are somewhere around the 3-star mark when all the other reviews, particularly the British ones, are 1-star horror shows!

The thrill is not gone, as #Michael, a surprisingly effective middle-of-the-road biopic, conducts Michael Jackson's electricity. My review. bit.ly/4cAMg9d

‘Everyone Is Lying to You for Money’ is #BenMcKenzie’s knife-sharp documentary takedown of cryptocurrency, a subject I've always found perilously confusing. The movie reveals why: because crypto is designed to sell an illusion. bit.ly/4cBkppv

Just when you thought you were done looking back at "Saturday Night Live," "Lorne," #MorganNeville’s puckishly playful and revealing Lorne Michaels documentary, completes the picture. bit.ly/4mHRGUI

I love Owen's reviews because he talks about the film enough to make me think that I'd disagree with his evaluation

Anne Hathaway plays a Gaga pop star, and Michaela Coel is her designer, in #MotherMary, David Lowery's thuddingly pretentious fantasia. bit.ly/4svOE7e

I am beyond thrilled to welcome @GuyLodge as @Variety's new chief film critic, taking on the role formerly occupied by Peter Debruge. Guy will be reviewing out of London, alongside myself in New York. He's a truly great critic, and we at Variety are blessed to have him. tinyurl.com/3r7xuybm

"Faces of Death" is a ’70s-style B-horror movie that taps into the growing appetite for horror that’s "real." It was made for the age of serial-killer obsession and Frazzledrip. shorturl.at/P9pD1

Seems to be a wide divide on "The Drama," but I'm over here at the furthest extreme end of excited by the film's top-notch script, direction, performances, ideas and truths.
Great night at the movies!
Audience out here in Banning Pass seemed to really be going with the film's twists and turns and gasps of painful and frequently funny relationship horrors.
Kudos to Kristoffer Borgli, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Alana Haim and Mamoudou Athie. Aces all around.
Question: Why didn't this movie premiere in a film fest?

"The Drama," starring #RobertPattinson and #Zendaya, is a half-funny, half-baked squirm comedy of extreme marital jitters. bit.ly/4lYpkVA

"The Last Critic" is a captivating portrait of Robert Christgau, the brilliant mad professor of rock critics, and how he made the grade. bit.ly/4bGSTb2
