I finally learned how to make custom levels for Sonic 3! My goal is to make a few and see if I can keep the OG spirit alive with a bigger emphasis on platforming and "micro paths" for fun split second decisions. Still have a lot of work to do but im having fun :)

@Starmaninja @pvicvg Ah! I'm glad you noticed! Yes mixing the elements leads to a very rewarding gameplay experience and while the shield is not required to beat the level or skill check you in a rude way I always wanted to expand upon its use. I will also have paths for tails and knuckles too!

@pvicvg @Part_Time_Faux Agree! Love the emphasis on .multiple paths and the fire shield being a skill check to stay above the water. Reminds me of Sonic 2's level design philosophy where you earn the top path where all the speed is but fail and you go the slower, but safer route.

@somecooliodude Thanks! I do plan to fix the visuals too, the line of rings is to help me keep track of sonics jump arc and there's a bit of junk on screen that exists purely for me to mess with as I learn! And as and FYI I am NOT trying to do a hard kr Kaizo type of mod.

@Part_Time_Faux Only complaint is that visually it looks a bit messy but in all honesty as someone who knows about how classic sonic on the genesis works thats likely because of your limited chunk selection so i guess it doesnt matter I do think stopping the player that fast at the start kinda-

Oh I respect the criticism! Just please keep in mind this is literally the FIRST time I've ever started building a level, (if this blows up and the wider sonic community sees I'm gonna KMS) I wanna maintain flow but respect that sonic is a unique platformer and not treat this like a Mario maker level LOL.

@pvicvg Thanks! I figured if I wanna get into game development I need to make some levels first. For Sonic 3 I'm only using the Vanilla assets and nothing more, imo the base game is already fun so I wanna work with those creative limitations!

@Part_Time_Faux It appears you need to sort by "newest" to see it. On the MIRACLE YouTube account, it shows up normally however for whatever reason. YouTube works in mysterious ways...
