Right now, Canada exports more electricity to the U.S. than across provincial and territorial borders. That’s a missed opportunity. A national energy corridor could finally change that. 👉 buff.ly/boDA2Xn

Some see conflict in the Middle East as a reason to double down on oil expansion. It’s not. Global trends — like EVs & renewables — will push long-term demand down. Chaotic oil prices won’t change that. Why Canada needs to see the bigger picture ⬇️ policyoptions.irpp.org/2026/03/oil-sp…

Today’s Alberta–federal agreement-in-principle on methane offers a needed path forward after months of regulatory gridlock. Certainty & improved data will unlock investment & drive emissions down. Next: Alberta must release its draft methane regs. 🔗: buff.ly/QqxORwz

Projects with sound business cases attract private investment. No public dollars needed. That’s why we must not see any taxpayer dollars for a new pipeline come out of the Alberta-Ottawa climate talks.

If the Pathways carbon capture project is to be a key part of the Alberta-Ottawa deal on climate and energy, then industry needs to step up. After years of talks, oilsands companies must show their commitment by putting dollars on the table.

As gas prices rise, so is interest in EVs, as Canadians look to avoid volatile oil prices. But for many, high purchase cost is a barrier. That’s why smart EV policies — like $5K rebates and continued support for EV adoption — can help Canadians save money and reduce emissions.🎯

Global oil & gas price spikes are hitting Canadians, no matter how much we produce. But electricity is different: stable, affordable, domestic, and (mostly) clean. Want energy security? Go electric. Double supply, electrification & energy productivity.

💡 Home retrofits are a cost-of-living solution. Alberta households could save over $600 a year through cleaner electricity and better home performance. Cleaner homes = lower bills.

In 2025, EVs cut oil demand by 1.7 million barrels per day — almost 70% of Iran’s exports. Less oil = less exposure to price spikes. Electrification is economic resilience. The latest from @ember_energy ⬇️

Ambition matters. Canada’s vehicle emissions standard will decide how quickly we switch to EVs or how far we fall behind the 75% EV sales goal by 2035. 🚗🔌

The Alberta‑Ottawa MOU must deliver stable, reliable rules companies can plan around. Alberta can design its own methane and clean electricity rules, but they must hit the same emissions outcomes on the same timelines. Companies deserve fair treatment and comparable standards.

Canada’s clean energy future depends on people. Right now, we don’t have enough skilled workers to build and operate a low-carbon economy. Our Sustainable Workforce program is closing that gap.

To unlock long‑term emissions cuts, the agreed $130/tonne carbon price must be in place by 2030—and the Alberta–Ottawa deal must be finalized by April 1. Without it, investment will keep stalling and emissions will keep rising.
