So @PeteSampson_ and I spent a couple days talking to folks at the ACC meetings. Here's what we heard about the ACC-Notre Dame relationship, the Duke-Amazon deal and more (free link): nytimes.com/athletic/72802…

Notre Dame wants a 24-team College Football Playoff. At ACC spring meetings, I asked athletic director Pete Bevacqua to explain why. “I think 24 is not the only solution, but I think it's the best solution.” nytimes.com/athletic/72761…

ACC commissioner Jim Phillips: “Notre Dame was a CFP worthy team this year. They just were.” Notes Notre Dame’s exclusion from the CFP last year is part of the reason why the ACC supports the expansion to a 24-team field.

Notre Dame lands 5-star offensive tackle Olu Olubobola (6-6, 295) from St. Peter's Prep, the same program that produced Brandon Wimbush and the Ademilola twins. Chose Notre Dame over Miami, LSU, Texas A&M, etc.

Olu Olubobola was asked what Notre Dame can expect from his skill set once he enrolls in South Bend. "Dominance." No further comment.

The most interesting part of Notre Dame’s kickoff time release isn’t the four night games. It’s the lack of a Peacock-only broadcast. Thought Notre Dame might move an ACC opponent (or two) to NBC’s streaming platform.

As I've written in column and said on pod. Winner here finishes regular season undefeated and will be No. 1 seed in CFP. ND wins - C.J. Carr wins Heisman. Miami wins and we'll see if they have a standout or if multiple guys split the vote.
