As a pharmacist, I’ve spent years fighting to lower prescription drug costs.
In January, @POTUS signed my PBM legislation, helping rein in the middlemen, or PBMs, who put profit over patients.
Now, one of America’s largest pharmacy benefit managers announced it will stop tying its profits to higher drug prices and prescription volume.
This is a major step toward lowering costs for all patients!

A Choice We Must Make… While pushing down drug prices in the U.S. will almost certainly save money now, it comes at the cost… not just delays, but cuts in investment for new and existing treatments. @KennethThorpe @kjacny realclearhealth.com/articles/2026/…

Making things better for patients, achieving better outcomes, doesn’t just boil down to dollars. Finding the right treatment for a patient doesn’t quite fit into these global policies that undercut patient access. @HarryGewanter

The measure of a healthcare system should not simply be how much it spends, but how well it enables people to live longer, healthier, fuller lives with access to the treatments and innovations they need. @KennethThorpe

For millions of Americans living with chronic disease, access to innovative medicines determines whether someone can continue working, caring for their family, maintaining independence, or avoiding serious disease progression. And that is why we should be paying close attention to the growing push to import foreign drug pricing systems into the United States. REGISTER to learn more: itif.org/events/2026/05…

Today, National Forum Director of Programs Jen Childress addressed the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services during a Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program town hall on Trulicity (dulaglutide).
She urged CMS to weigh real-world consequences, not just cost, when making coverage decisions.
💊 Dulaglutide's once-weekly dosing supports stronger adherence and persistence, which is especially meaningful for older adults managing multiple medications.
🫀 For Medicare beneficiaries with cardiovascular risk and chronic kidney disease, access to a therapy that patients can reliably stay on is not a nice-to-have. It's part of the care equation.
⚠️ The National Forum is calling on CMS to protect against non-medical switching that disrupts adherence and continuity of care, with disproportionate harm to underserved populations.

MFN pricing would import the same European price controls that cause delays and access restrictions in the EU. Better solutions exist. bit.ly/4eFE89Z
