Our team members delivered their final presentations on their Six Sigma Green Belt projects today, showcasing the work they’ve put in over the past 8 weeks. Their projects focused on: • BOM Remediation and Return-to-Stores Process Optimisation • Test Specification Accuracy and SharePoint Change Control • Wire Storage Area Improvement It was fantastic to see them confidently applying the Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) methodology using their new Six Sigma tools to drive real improvements in our operations. A huge congratulations to our newly certified Green Belts! 💪 Special thanks to @TSWTraining for delivering such a valuable programme. 🌞The sun is finally back this week 🌞 After months of rain, it’s nice to see brighter days again, it really lifts the mood. It’s lovely to see everyone with a spring in their steps and we’re looking forward to spending more time outdoors. Our solar panels are already making the most of it. So far they’ve helped us save 17 tons of CO2 emissions, equivalent to 250,000 km driven on sunshine. With more sunny weather ahead, we’re looking forward to seeing our solar production pick up over the next few months #SolarEnergy #Sunshine #CleanEnergy #Sustainability

A huge thank you to Vikki Howells MS, Welsh Minister for Further & Higher Education and MS for Cynon Valley, for visiting us last Friday! Great to showcase our work creating job opportunities at the top of the Cynon Valley. We highlighted partnerships with Aspire, Merthyr College, Coleg y Cymoedd, and USW via the Network75 degree apprenticeship program. A highlight was our academy, hands-on IPC-certified training with Kayleigh, plus innovative digital content from One Step North featuring interactive tools, AR, and gamification for engaging learning. We also shared our outreach, like Girls Can Engineer books in local primaries, inspiring early STEM interest and local career paths. We would like to thank Vikki for her support and for championing further education and economic growth in the Cynon Valley. We are excited about what we can achieve to create brighter futures for local people! ✨

Big welcome to our five new starters who've just joined the team! 👏 While Martyn, Louis, Izzy, and Kieron have been putting in the hard yards in the Academy, learning all the ropes before hitting the shop floor and getting paired up with our experienced operators... Chris is pulling the ultimate power move: he's not exactly a "new" starter! After nine years with us previously, a year doing great work at a charity, he decided to come back home. With all that hands-on experience, he's slotted straight back in like he never left! The rest of the crew are already impressing everyone and settling in brilliantly. 🌟 This week, we welcomed our latest work experience stars! 🌟 Shoutout to Chaya and Lee from Coleg y Cymoedd who joined us for an exciting week of hands-on experience! They spent time on the shop floor learning from our skilled operators, getting stuck into real-world tasks, and also dedicated sessions in our Academy sharpening their skills. Both of them seemed to really enjoy the experience, we hope it's given them a great insight into our world of manufacturing/engineering! Five of our team members are halfway through their Six Sigma Green Belt training delivered by TSW Training! This week, as part of #NAW2026, our team attended the Merthyr College Apprenticeship Fair to champion the real value of apprenticeships! 🚀 Our trainer Kayleigh and our 2nd-year apprentice Ben teamed up to deliver authentic insights, giving prospective apprentices the chance to hear directly from someone living the journey and from our perspective as a host company. A perfect chance to showcase both sides of the story: the growth, skills, and opportunities that come with this pathway. Great to catch up with long-term apprenticeship partners who have been with us for the past 8 years: 👩‍💻 Ashton Montague from the Aspire Shared Apprenticeship Programme 👩‍🎓 Louise Hawker & Gabi Bush from The Professional Academy Network75 These relationships continue to make a huge difference in creating quality apprenticeship opportunities. Only a 4% chance of this exact outcome and we beat the odds!🍀 After winning Developing Future Talent and SME of the Region at the Wales level last November, we proudly represented our nation at the national gala dinner at the iconic Madame Tussauds last week and came away with: 🥈 SME of the Year (National Runner-up) 🥈 Developing Future Talent (National Runner-up) This double achievement is a huge testament to the dedication, innovation, and people-first culture of the entire Philtronics Team. This builds directly on the practical HR workshops already delivered by our expert HR Consultants at @HighfieldHR, giving everyone even stronger foundations in people management. The course is all about equipping our leaders with the right tools, knowledge, and confidence to manage teams effectively, support our people, and drive a positive workplace culture.
