CY0S Update (Mar 24) Larry W0PR (Member of the CY0S team): "Weather on Sable today is not friendly. Wind in the mid 30mph, with precipitation from time to time and high temperature of 34F. The storm last night damaged their 6m beam, and they'll fix it when things calm down. Video shows Murray, WA4DAN, replacing a bad balun on the A3. Note the windsock in the video." hamradioworld.org/post/cy0s-sabl…

A swimming coach in California is being hailed as a hero after he dove into dangerous rip currents to rescue a father and his young daughter. The incident occurred in mid-March 2026 at Oceanside Beach. The father and daughter were swept away by a strong rip current far from shore and were gradually becoming exhausted, struggling to keep their heads above water. Without a moment’s hesitation, the coach immediately jumped into the sea and swam straight toward them. He reached the pair, calmed them down, and safely brought both back to shore, where bystanders were waiting to help. The entire rescue took just a few minutes, but it was enough to save two lives.
