On the 78th anniversary of the Nakba, the mass displacement of more than 750,000 Palestinians during the events surrounding the establishment of Israel in 1948, 83-year-old Abdul Rahman Abu Shammala recounts a lifetime marked by repeated displacement.
Originally forced from the village of Beit Daras in 1948 and recently displaced again from Khan Younis refugee camp, Abu Shammala reflects on a story stretching from the Nakba to the Israeli genocide from 2023 on.

The Palestinian National Popular Action Committee on the 78th Nakba anniversary:
⭕ What is taking place today is not a new chapter separate from the Nakba, but rather a continuation of the very same settler-colonial project.
⭕ At this stage, our Palestinian people are facing one of the most dangerous conspiracies in modern history, as they confront systematic attempts to break their will, erase their rights, and liquidate their cause under the cover of war, displacement, siege, and dubious settlement deals.
⭕ The Nakba will remain a witness to the crime, just as our people will remain a testament to the fact that Palestine is neither forgotten, nor for sale, nor to be erased, and that the determination to liberate the land and achieve return is stronger than all conspiracies.
