“She threatened to SUE Stellantis.” Why? 😱 ‼️Because Stellantis accepted massive Canadian taxpayer subsidies with explicit job guarantees, and then deliberately moved production of the Jeep Compass from Brampton, Ontario, to Illinois. They broke their signed contract with Canadian workers. “Then she threatened to CLAW BACK funds from GM.” Why? 😱 ‼️ Because General Motors took Canadian funding and proceeded to eliminate shifts in Oshawa and shut down production in Ingersoll. They failed to respect their part of the deal. The narrative claims @melaniejoly’s actions “inflamed a very important ally.” Btw, all that is already public. Let us state the facts. Joly reacted to a direct attack on the Canadian auto sector. U.S. auto monopolies violated their agreements with Canada, eliminated Canadian jobs, and when faced with financial penalties, they ran crying to their buddy Donald Trump to kill the trade deal. Canada invests in companies. When those companies do not respect their part of the deal, should Canada just bow? 🚩“Conservatives” like Mario think yes.

‼️ WOW Politico just reported what actually killed Canada’s trade deal with the United States. Not Doug Ford’s ad. Not a tariff dispute. Melanie Joly. She threatened to SUE Stellantis. Then she threatened to CLAW BACK funds from GM. The US auto industry went directly to the White House. Trump pulled the plug on a deal described as imminent. One official said Joly’s actions “inflamed a very important ally.” Another said it was “posturing” that destroyed the relationship. This is the same Joly who: -Never read the $15 billion Stellantis contract she publicly defended -Applauded 49,000 Chinese EVs into Canada while Canadian auto workers lost jobs -Was in Germany at a trade show posting LinkedIn content while all of this collapsed Minister. of. Destruction

A 17-year-old in Iowa boiled beets in her chemistry class and turned them into stitches that change color when your wound gets infected. Her name is Dasia Taylor. It started as a science fair project. She wanted a low-tech version of the "smart stitches" Tufts researchers built in 2016. Those used thread wired up with sensors and a tiny chip that pinged your phone if something went wrong. Cool, but useless without a phone or a hospital that can afford it. Her version doesn't need any of that. Healthy skin is slightly acidic, like lemon juice but much milder. When bacteria grow in a wound, the chemistry flips and turns more like soap or baking soda. Beet juice has a quirk. The same red pigment that stains your fingers when you cook it shifts color based on what it touches. Bright red on healthy skin. Dark purple on infected skin. The switch lines up with infection almost exactly. She tested ten threads before finding a cotton-polyester blend that soaked up the dye and changed color within five minutes. That was the prototype. Around 1 in 40 American surgeries end in an infection at the cut, costing hospitals more than $3 billion a year. In poorer countries the rate is closer to 1 in 9. In parts of Africa it's 1 in 6. In some Ethiopian hospitals, up to a quarter of surgery patients leave with an infection. The whole game is catching it early. Spot it in time and antibiotics handle it. Miss the window and the patient is back on the operating table. Dasia filed a patent in 2021 and started a medical device company called VariegateHealth in 2022. The stitches haven't been tested on real patients yet. New medical device patents can take a decade. She's also looking into a side benefit: the beet pigment kills bugs like E. coli and Klebsiella in lab tests. Smart stitches need a phone to read them. Hers just need eyes.

The grand illusion is colliding with reality. Business is finally calling out the BS. We can either be an energy superpower or we can have an industrial carbon tax. We can’t do both. I have made my choice. Prime Minister, what is yours?

🚨🇺🇸🇸🇦 BREAKING: Saudi Arabia refused U.S. access to its bases and airspace for Project Freedom, forcing Trump's suspension of the operation... Per NBC News citing two U.S. officials, Trump surprised Gulf allies by announcing Project Freedom on social media Sunday afternoon without coordinating with them first. Saudi Arabia was furious. The Kingdom informed the U.S. it would not allow the U.S. military to fly aircraft from Prince Sultan Airbase southeast of Riyadh, nor fly through Saudi airspace to support the operation. A direct call between Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman did not resolve the issue. Trump was forced to pause Project Freedom specifically to restore U.S. military access to the airspace it needs. The Pentagon was actively lining up additional ships for transit when the operation got halted. This completely changes the narrative around Tuesday's pause. The official line was "great progress" toward a deal. The actual reason was that the U.S. couldn't continue the operation without Saudi airspace and the Saudis cut it off. Diplomacy may have been advancing in parallel, but the immediate trigger for stopping was operational impossibility, not strategic patience. Source: NBC News

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Per Politico, a senior Gulf Arab official cut through the diplomatic theater with one of the most accurate assessments of the entire war: "Trump badly wants the war to end, but the Iranians are so far refusing to give him what he needs to save face and leave. And he does not seem to understand that they need to save face, too." This is the central deadlock that keeps every framework from closing. Both sides want out. Both sides need a politically defensible exit. Neither side fully grasps what the other needs to claim a win at home. For Trump, the win is about ending the war as the dealmaker who stopped Iran's nuclear program. For Iran, the win is about surviving the war as the regional power that withstood American military force. Both sides are right. Both sides have legitimate face-saving requirements.

@rocks_boffin Fight the good fight! 💪🏻 I have a friend who was nailed by her crappy HOA for having “weeds” and it was her heirloom garden. They simply didn’t understand that these not as popular flowers were still FLOWERS, not weeds. She fought and won. We will need updates on this.

There is a coffee shop in Singapore that serves one of the most magical drinks you can imagine. At Sweet Little Rain, an ordinary Americano is transformed into something almost poetic. Instead of being served on its own, the cup arrives with a delicate cloud of cotton candy suspended above it. As the hot steam rises, the cloud slowly melts, dissolving into gentle drops that fall into the coffee below, like a tiny, sweet rainstorm. Bit by bit, the drink changes before your eyes, shifting from a bold, bitter brew into something softer and subtly sweet. It’s not just a coffee, it’s a moment, a performance, and a reminder that even the simplest things can be turned into something surprising.

Ignoring the Canadian Census isn’t harmless. It shortchanges your own community. When people don’t respond, Stats Can undercounts your area, and that translates into lost funding, fewer services, and weaker representation. You’re essentially kneecapping your own neighbourhood.

Poilievre posted this clip of Carney saying “weaknesses.” He cut the sentence in half, as usual. The full quote: “The U.S. has fundamentally changed its approach to trade, raising its tariffs to levels last seen during the Great Depression. Many of our former strengths, based on our close ties to America, have become weaknesses that we must correct.” @PierrePoilievre, you know the risk of a single customer holding 75% of your exports. You know what happens when that customer launches an unprovoked trade war against its closest ally, threatens annexation on Truth Social, and holds your steel industry hostage over a fentanyl crisis your border did not cause. Calling that a structural vulnerability is Economics 101. Calling it strength is a pitch deck for surrender. Regarding the “rupture”: Carney used the exact right word. The 25% general tariffs, the 50% steel tariffs, the threat to make Canada the 51st state, and the open diplomatic warmth toward Putin, we can keep going, validate it completely. @MarkJCarney diagnosed reality. Poilievre attacks the diagnosis. Both quotes in that video are true and completely compatible. Diagnosing over-dependency and demanding a stronger bilateral relationship operate as a single, unified strategy. They only sound contradictory when someone cuts the sentence, deletes the context, and manufactures a scandal. Sounds familiar, Pierre? #cdnpoli #Canada

Lost In The Barrens was a mandatory read for our English class and of course nobody wanted to read it. Once I started I couldn’t put it down and read it over the weekend. I checked out more of Mowat’s books from the library and explored Canadian authors. ❤️🇨🇦❤️

Farley Mowat was one of Canada's most beloved and influential authors. Not only did he sell 17 million copies of his books in 52 languages, but he was also a decorated veteran who changed how people saw wildlife in Canada. This is his story. 📸 Fred Phipps 🧵 1/12

Alberta’s NDP Caucus has obtained video evidence that appears to show that a senior member of the United Conservative Party (UCP) party executive and a member of the UCP Caucus staff, people that are in the Premier’s inner circle, attended the April 16 online meeting of the Centurion Project. This meeting provided training to volunteers on how to use the separatists’ project database that is at the centre of this data breach of three million Albertans’ electoral data. The Alberta NDP Caucus obtained a recording of the Centurion Project’s April 16 online meeting, attended by 80 individuals. The attendee list and a video recording of the call identify that a ‘Rob Smith’ and an ‘Arundeep Sandhu’ were in attendance. The President of the UCP is named Rob Smith and the UCP Caucus Director of Stakeholder Relations is named Arundeep Sandhu. Alberta’s New Democrats have passed this recording on to the RCMP as they continue their investigation. This obtained video also shows Centurion Project members demonstrating how to use a database to search for personal information of Albertans by searching for the name and address of former Alberta Premier Jason Kenney. Jason Kenney’s personal information was shared on screen with all meeting attendees. This video appears to show the database that was built using the unauthorized electors list that was the subject of an injunction issued by the Court of King’s Bench on April 30, 2026. Premier Smith must immediately confirm whether Rob Smith and Arundeep Sandhu identified in the video are the same individuals that are associated with the UCP party and caucus. If these were the same UCP associates, the Premier must also explain: -Why were senior UCP officials attending the meeting? Were they directed to attend? -How she can claim, as recent as yesterday, that she only learned of this data breach from police statements on April 29-30, published almost two weeks after this meeting took place? -Why was it not reported or disclosed by any UCP or any government official to the RCMP and Elections Alberta that the Centurion Project appears to have unauthorized access to the electors list? -What actions, if any, she has taken to protect the privacy of Albertans? Albertans deserve answers and transparency from Premier Smith and this UCP government, now.
