With sweeping new technical regulations set to arrive in 2027, Škoda Motorsport is already mapping out its response to a changing Rally2 landscape. While speculation has swirled about potential new platforms within the Volkswagen Group, the team has made clear it is actively studying the rules and assessing its options. What remains beyond doubt is its long-term commitment: motorsport is embedded in the brand’s DNA, and the Fabia Rally2 - proven, reliable and the category’s best-seller - will form the backbone of its future plans. Rather than stepping back, Škoda intends to carry the Fabia into the new era and refine it further, determined to stay at the sharp end when the regulations reshape the field.

@TommyHoward I was very lucky growing up in rural Mid Wales. Rallying was by far the most exciting thing ever to happen around here 🤣 You couldn't help but get hooked. We were all obsessed with it - and it's stayed with me to this day 👍

@RallyingUK This is very true. Did get to see the Stratos on the Roger Albert Clark which gave me a snippet of that era.

✱ Sad news with the passing of Sandro Munari, one of rallying’s defining figures. I still recall first hearing - and then seeing - the Lancia Stratos HF with Munari at the wheel in Sutton Park on the 1977 Lombard RAC Rally. It was one of those indelible moments that never leaves you. Grazie per i ricordi, Sandro 🙏
