On 27 June 2026, MFL Bison Ranch will be hosting a field day in partnership with @BisonProducerAB and @GreyWooded. Guest speaker will be Tom Kraweic, author of 'Ranching like a 12-yr-old". He'll be introducing the idea of 'Sweet Spot Grazing' and 'Revisiting the 19th Century Bison Population Decline'. The afternoon will include a bison paddock move and field walk to look at and discuss infrastructure, soil health, proxies for assessing your grazing timing, gophers, wormwood, moonshine and/or whatever comes up. We already have some experienced managers of bison and beef planning to attend, and are hoping to have some sheep/goat guys too. Lunch will be bison smokies provided by Ivan from @bigbendmarket in Red Deer, AB and Big Bend Bison Ranch east of Penhold, AB.
