On March 14th — Medicine Day in Türkiye — we were honored to host UVECD’s “Grey Areas in Vascular Surgery” congress at the INVAMED manufacturing campus, dedicated to the memory of Prof. Dr. Bülent Kaya. A heartfelt thank you to UVECD (Turkish National Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Association) for choosing our production campus as the venue for this important scientific meeting. Welcoming Turkey’s top vascular surgeons into the same space where we design and manufacture the devices they rely on in the OR was a truly meaningful experience for our entire team. When surgeons and engineers share the same roof, the right questions get asked — and the right solutions follow. Tüm hekimlerimizin ve sağlık çalışanlarımızın 14 Mart Tıp Bayramı kutlu olsun. Prof. Dr. Bülent Kaya’nın aziz hatırasına saygılarımızla. UVECD yönetim kuruluna ve kıymetli hocalarımıza teşekkür ederiz.

Honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Erdoğan İlkay, FESC to our INVAMED Medical Innovation Institute R&D and manufacturing facilities. Prof. İlkay stands among Turkey’s most distinguished interventional cardiologists, with over 30,000 coronary and structural heart interventions throughout his career. As the former President of the Turkish Society of Cardiology – Interventional Cardiology Association (2011-2013) and founding Chair of the Peripheral Vascular Diseases Working Group, his contributions to the field have been transformative. His expertise spans complex coronary angioplasty, TAVI, MitraClip, and peripheral vascular interventions—areas where device innovation directly impacts patient outcomes.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Prof. Victor Canata for the meaningful gift prepared by the Vein & Lymphatic University — a football signed by distinguished venous and lymphatic surgeons from around the world. This thoughtful gesture is truly an honor, and I am grateful for his kindness and leadership. I would also like to extend my thanks to Prof. Victor Canata, Prof. Lowell Kabnick, and Prof. A Kürşat Bozkurt for their inspiring contributions to the global advancement of venous and lymphatic surgery. Their scientific work, academic dedication, and international impact continue to enrich our field and motivate the next generation of clinicians and researchers. It was a privilege to come together with such esteemed professors, and I look forward to future collaborations aimed at advancing vascular medicine worldwide.

🔍New Review Alert | Journal of Integrative Neuroscience, 24(4) “Inhibition of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps: A Potential Therapeutic Strategy for Hemorrhagic Stroke” Critically evaluates how NET-driven neuroinflammation and micro-thrombosis exacerbate secondary brain injury after hemorrhagic stroke. Key insights •Pathobiology: NETosis—via both NOX-dependent & NOX-independent pathways—compromises the BBB, fuels cytokine cascades and fosters early micro-clot formation. •Therapeutic targets: PAD4 inhibitors (GSK484, Cl-amidine), DNase I–mediated NET dismantling, TREM-1 blockade and neutrophil-targeted nanoparticles show pre-clinical promise. •Translational outlook: Selective NET inhibition could complement conventional stroke care, paving the way for precision immunotherapy in neurovascular medicine. 🧠 We are pleased to share our latest review article, “Therapeutic Role of Microglia/Macrophage Polarization in Intracerebral Hemorrhage”, published in Clinical and Translational Neuroscience. 💡 This work explores the critical role of microglia and macrophage polarization, particularly the shift from M1 to M2 phenotypes, in addressing secondary brain injury following intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). 🔬 We highlight how immunotherapeutic modulation of innate immune cells may hold the key to reducing neuroinflammation, preserving the blood-brain barrier, and promoting tissue repair. 📊 Emerging evidence suggests that agents such as minocycline and fingolimod not only mitigate acute damage but also foster a regenerative microenvironment—an encouraging step toward targeted, mechanism-based therapy. 📍 This review consolidates recent advances in both experimental and clinical settings, and presents microglia/macrophages as promising therapeutic targets in ICH. 📄 Read the full article here: doi.org/10.3390/ctn901… 🧾 Clinical and Translational Neuroscience, 2025, Vol. 9, Issue 1 mdpi.com/2514-183X/9/1/4
