AP Computer Science students visited the Google Chicago office for a day of learning and connection. 💻 Hosted by RB alums Elona Selenica (‘17) and Melissa Tovar (‘17), students heard about their journeys from AP Computer Science classes at RB to careers as software engineers. The visit also included an AI training and coding activity, small-group office tours with Googlers, and a panel featuring RB alums Jessica JnoBaptiste (‘16), Nathan Juarez (‘17), Esequiel Linares (‘24), and Mia Diaz (‘24), who shared their experiences in the tech field. Students wrapped up the day with a special guest appearance from Zach Toland (‘90s) and a networking session to ask questions and gain advice for the future. #RB208Pride

Congratulations to Aiden Veltman on receiving the 2026 Mary Wheeler Scholarship Award from the West Suburban Teachers Union! This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate strong academic achievement, involvement in school activities, and a commitment to community service. 🐾 #RB208Pride

AP European History students had the opportunity to explore Matisse’s Jazz: Rhythms in Color at the Art Institute of Chicago with exhibit curator Emily Ziemba, gaining insight into the bold colors, movement, and storytelling behind Henri Matisse’s iconic work. Mrs. Zimmerman also guided students through Millennium Park, highlighting its unique architecture and sculptures along the way. 🎨🐾 #RB208Pride

15 staff members were treated to an in-school luncheon from the Honors Culinary students! Students created, prepared, and served a Mediterranean 3-course meal with homemade hummus and tzatziki, lentil soup, chicken shawarma bowls, and karithopita, a traditional Greek walnut cake. 👨‍🍳 #RB208Pride

Baking & Pastry students have been learning about the fundamentals of cake baking and decorating. Today, they created their own cakes from scratch and had teachers judge each one for best presentation and best flavor. It was a fun and delicious way to showcase their creativity and skills in the kitchen! 🍰🐾 #RB208Pride

HEALTH CAREER FAIR 🩺🐾 Students had the opportunity to explore a variety of careers in the health field during our Health Career Fair! Representatives from areas like nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, and more spent time talking with students, answering questions, and sharing what their day-to-day work looks like. It was a great chance for students to learn about different pathways in health care and what it takes to get there. COLLEGE & CAREER WEEK DAY 4 🔧💡 RB hosted our annual Trades & Career Fair, where students connect with industry professionals to explore various career paths. We were grateful to have representatives from multiple trade unions, Riverside Police & Fire Departments, Nicholas & Associates, U.S. Armed Forces, Triton College, Paul Mitchell the School Chicago, and many more! Yesterday, Anatomy & Physiology students spent the morning watching a live coronary artery bypass surgery performed by the surgical team at Advocate Christ Medical Center. This session, part of the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry’s “Live from the Heart” program, allowed students to ask surgeons and nurses questions in real time as the procedure progressed. It offered a look at the patient’s medical history, the science behind the surgery, and the various professional roles within the operating room. 🫀 #RB208Pride
