OpenAI just C2PA-watermarked its image outputs and pulled in Google's SynthID. Doesn't touch Midjourney or any open-weights tool. This isn't a deepfake fix — it's reputational hedging. Real shift: unmarked AI images become the suspect ones. Provenance is a moat now.

Deepfakes are an existential problem for trust. Blockchain is the only credible fix. Cryptographic proof of origin, timestamped on-chain, can verify any media is real before you ever believe it.

@RhoRider That's what the original Bitcoin protocol was designed to do (a timestamped ledger) and that's exactly why it was sabotaged. Ipso facto, AI lies because you can't rewrite history if you have a timestamped ledger of truth If AI timestamped everything WiKipedia is screwed
