I’ve decided that I’m going to post about one appallingly misogynistic court ruling every day, until I run out of them. Feel free to DM me suggestions if you’ve got one you’d like highlighted. For our first entry on the list of Ridiculous ourt Decisions That Have Stripped Women of Basic Human Rights, we have Grimm v Gloucester County School District, in which the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ruled that separating bathrooms by sex constitutes “unlawful sex discrimination,” and violates Title IX. Y’all remember Title IX, right? The law that was supposed to guarantee equal educational opportunities for women and girls? Well, now it’s being used as a tool with which to torment schoolgirls and interfere with their access to education — oh, and to make them physically ill in the bargain. As a direct result of this shameless pandering masquerading as a court decision, girls all across the country — including my own nieces, who live in four different states — are doing everything they can to avoid having to use the bathroom while at school. These girls try not to drink anything from the time they get up until school lets out a, and if they do have to go, they hold it, or wait until after class so they can find a friend and ask her to go with them to the bathroom — which isn’t always possible in the short time before the next class starts. None of my nieces are going to the bathroom alone at school any more, and neither are any of their friends. Four of them have had at least one UTI in the last 6 months. All of them are refusing to change for gym. And it’s because they don’t want to share a bathroom with, or get changed in front of, boys. Boys - some of whom aren’t even pretending to be girls - have been caught taking pictures under stalls and standing on toilets to peek over the top of the next stall. In one niece’s school, they’ve gone on a full blown intimidation campaign. They go through and put every seat up, or pee all over them when they do leave them down. They bang loudly on the doors of obviously occupied stalls, pee on the floor in front of the toilet where girls have to put their feet, make sex noises from the next stall while girls are using the bathroom, and basically do everything they can to make using the bathroom an unpleasant and intimidating experience. Girls deserve better. School is already difficult at that age, and forcing them to share a bathroom with boys is a form of cruelty.

No the atheist cannot do that without appropriating a religious worldview. Why? Because you are assigning special value to humans. If the atheist maintained the consistent position of naturalism then the Holocaust is no more "evil" than the killing of bugs.
