Ales Bialiatski: "The exchange will be endless if the repression does not stop" On April 14, @viasna96 delegation led by Ales Bialiatski took part in a meeting with deputies of the Swedish Riksdag. The meeting with the deputies was organized by @Ostgruppen and the @rightlivelihood. The participants included the Speaker of Parliament, deputies from all factions, heads of the Swedish delegation to PACE, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Swedish human rights activists, and representatives of the Belarusian diaspora. This is an annual tradition in honor of @NobelPrize laureates, and the meeting with Ales was supposed to take place back in 2022. 📸Photos: Anders Mattsson

🌎 He spent 4.5 years in jail as a prisoner of conscience. For the first time since his release, he’s coming to Stockholm. Ales Bialiatski, Belarusian human rights defender and Laureate of both the @rightlivelihood Award and the @NobelPrize, visits Stockholm in April for a conversation about the situation in #Belarus today, the country's remaining political prisoners, and what the international community can actually do. The conversation will be moderated by Carin Klaesson from the Nobel Prize Museum, with Jon Fridholm and journalist Johanna Melén joining Bialiatski in discussion.
