The Ashoka emblem represents India, not God; it is an ideal, not an idol. And yet it is being smashed. You can’t do anything. As Dr Ambedkar said: Allegiance of a Muslim is not to his nation but to his faith. Islam can never allow a true Muslim to adopt India as his motherland.

He made a mark as an institution builder, grooming centres of learning and innovation for young minds. His writings have also gone a long way in making science accessible to common citizens. My mind is filled with countless interactions with Shri Ratan Tata Ji. I would meet him frequently in Gujarat when I was the CM. We would exchange views on diverse issues. I found his perspectives very enriching. These interactions continued when I came to Delhi. Extremely pained by his passing away.
