This weekend we distributed school supplies to students and R&R brochures to parents and attendees who inquired about our services at First Choice by Select Health of South Carolina's Repack The Backpack Event in North Charleston.

Root & Rebound South Carolina is now located at the Jud Hub, a collaborative workspace where our team will continue to carry our work forward. While our location has changed, our services and commitment to supporting our system-impacted community members remains the same.

Today reminds us how powerful love is—especially when we use it to transform the world around us. In honor of Black History Month and Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating Ericka Huggins, a Black Panther Party leader who has dedicated her life to activism and social change.

This Black History Month we are celebrating the Black leaders and activists who have fought for justice in the criminal legal system. The month also provides an opportunity for all who support criminal legal reform to recommit to centering anti-racism in their work all year long.

Learn about the harsh conditions, low pay, and lessons learned at fire camp. Fighting fires was part of Reyna's journey before she cleaned her record with R&R and pursued her dreams in the medical world.

R&R's South Carolina team participated in United Way's Project Joy, selecting two families, and Tiana, one of our South Carolina paralegals, was kind enough to do the shopping.

Our appreciation goes out to all the firefighters risking their lives to keep our communities safe! People who bravely fight fires while incarcerated are met with barriers after coming home. Learn more about the legal, social, and employment hurdles Gabriel had to overcome!
