There sort of is precedent for this:
To this day, Disney still refers to the Lion King remake as the “live-action remake.” You’ll never hear them say it’s animated.

Disney just needs to say they're going to adapt Heir to the Empire and when anyone asks about the sequel trilogy just pretend to not know what they're talking about.

I highly recommend checking out the series. It's probably better than any theatrical sequel to Tangled could've been.

Angel knows it’s bad and is just leaning into it.
This points to the theory that they only agreed to distribute Animal Farm
because it was a stipulation by Andy Serkis to have his Young Washington film.

@KangarooSurreal I had a feeling from the trailers that this one was going to be a stinker. It’s a shame when the original work is so poignant.
But I still like going to the theater so support animated films.

@Rotoscopers I was actually kind of interested in it, but I was on the fence about seeing it in theaters. On the one hand I want to get out and do something, but this review makes me feel like it’s not going to be worth the trip to the theater.

What started as a personal story something I poured my heart into... has now reached millions of people all over the world. Seeing the messages, the reactions, the way it's connected with so many of you… it means more to me than I can put into words.
And as if that wasn't enough…
we’ve also been ranked as one of the 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟭𝟱 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝘅𝗱.
That's surreal.
To be mentioned alongside so many incredible films, live action and animated... is something I never expected. I'm incredibly grateful.
