No the good old days were when the Mavericks WON A DAMN CHAMPIONSHIP. I know these guys never liked those teams because Dirk was too nice, wasn't a No.1 pick and didn't demand attention like their beloved Lebron and Luka do.

I have mixed feelings. I don't like teams leaving cities at all, but... Oakland has a LOT of problems. I was at that last game at the Coliseum, and my hotel had encampments outside and no one would deliver food there; the place was 2 miles from the Coliseum.

The Mavs failed to get the best odds possible for a high draft pick in June. But this outcome didn't have to happen. They just didn't have the leadership who would do what it takes. The guys in charge - Riccardi, Finley, Kidd - showed they are NOT the guy to GM a franchise.

I don't know what was more outrageous: That this happened, that Stab 3 was still made even after most of the original cast was themselves murdered by THE DIRECTOR... or that Stab 5 had time travel for some reason.

@DaveWillieB @UFLTonight 1. I have been to FC Dallas games and still wish that team had never left the Cotton Bowl just because of how ridiculous it is to get up to Frisco. 2. I have also seen HS games at The Ballpark and they were terrible; I am so glad Martin has Glaspie Field now.

In a flat odds environment, teams have incentives to stay under the cap and accumulate as many 1st rd picks as possible. All have equal odds to get a top pick,so they are lottery tickets. The more you accumulate the better you are.
And teams will have less resistance to trade them. One has much lower odds
In a flat odds worlds, teams don't have to lose games. This is much easier.
They just have to have cheap contracts (worse players), to stay under the cap and help teams get back under the aprons/tax
And if they sign a good one, but not great, they trade them for more lottery tickets. Making them worse again.
You have every incentive to trade EVERY player that can get you a 1st pick until you get a generational player to build around AND enough picks to have a chance for another one

You can't change how it works without capping the # of picks that can be traded or accumulated and how many years you can be under the cap

There is momentum building behind the idea of NBA Draft Lottery reform making the worst teams own a lower chance at landing No. 1 overall. For example, the bottom four possess worse odds compared to teams finishing 5-8. A clear incentive to win games all season versus tanking.
