@jjcoop36 Exactly there’s a lot of players that drop once they get to 30. If you have a 20 year old that you think is gonna be elite then you might as well get the bulk of his prime. People keep saying Evan White but that’s a lazy take considering Emerson is a better overall prospect

It’s not that CB Bucknor is a bad ump. It’s that he’s been a bad ump AND a dick about it for years. If he was just bad, I can understand feeling some sympathy for him. But he’s been such a pompous ass about his ineptitude that he’s really now just reaping what he’s sowed.

@ryan_staiger Absolutely not on Randy. He strikes out too much, doesn’t hustle, struggles with the fastball, isn’t clutch, and is a me-first player who nearly derailed the season (and probably caused Cal to be in the funk he’s in) before it even started because he such a drama queen.

Top shortstop prospect Colt Emerson’s eight-year, $95 million contract extension with the Seattle Mariners will be done this afternoon, sources tell ESPN. Emerson will remain at Triple-A for now but is clearly a big part of Seattle’s future. First with the news: @ByRobertMurray.

@SeahawksForever How is this hard to understand? If he hits like Julio then you don’t have to worry about paying him potentially three hundred million more dollars and you get him for almost a decade. If it doesn’t work out then that sucks but the gamble is still worth the risk

Maybe I’m still chapped about how the Evan White deal turned out, but I simply don’t see the benefit in this for the club.

The Milwaukee Brewers are on the verge of finalizing an 8-year deal for slightly more than $50 million with 21-year prized shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt, who had not played above Class AA until this year. The deal will include two option years for about $15 million a year.
