Great reform for 🇵🇰🇵🇰 financial markets by SECP. SECP has made Corporate Briefings of companies mandatory and more importantly, all recordings will be available on PSX channel (website or Youtube). This reform is very close to my heart because by attending hundreds of these Corporate briefings I was able to understand different businesses of Pakistan like their owners do. And now, all young upcoming talented analysts/investors will be able to do the same ❤️ Thank you SECP & Mr. Chairman Akif Saeed @akifsaeed65

Paying for cloud costs in USD is becoming SO painful (exch. rate, credit card limits), that the country may just see a whole-sale return to on-prem implementations for most LOB applications. One step forward, two steps backwards.

@raza_matin @PSEB Isn't Systems Limited responsible for this? I understand the pavilion is arranged by PSEB but iit s one of the high traffic areas. Systems should have invested in it and not gone for the smallest subsidised stall by PSEB

Pakistans largest IT company, by any measure, has a simple 5x5’ “stall” near the washrooms and coffee shop. Embarrassing. @PSEB.

@FaseehMangi 2/2: Also if Descon would count all the labours that habe ever worked on any of their construction project, the comparison would be different. I believe employees being disclosed to PSX/SECP would have a different definition than Careem's disclosure in a press release.

@FaseehMangi 1/2: Inaccurate comparison. Careem must be counting every captain even if they have taken a single ride. It should be compared with the largest listed company's all lifetime employees, interns and independent contractors.

Pakistan's largest listed companies employ around 20,000 people Careem claims it has been able to create over 800,000 jobs in Pakistan since its inception

I think @Profitpk should start offering a "founder diligence" service to VCs considering investing in Pakistan: you get a set of interviews with people who know the founder and give you a sense of the kind of person they are. Charge 0.5% of transaction value. @Bnizami

Would you pay for a comprehensive yet simple e-book that teaches you the soups to nuts of thinking about and executing Digital Transformation? Some thing that has tear away templates and is sub 50 pages of practical content with case studies. If so what?

@yisabsi @aatif_awan @BazaarTechPK @HarvardHBS Bazaar helps small retailers and Kiryana stores get their inventory delivered to them. The people benefitting from Bazaar are these small retailers, definitely not an elitist problem to solve.

1/ Feels surreal, yet not surprising that @BazaarTechPK growth story is being taught as a @HarvardHBS case. Surreal because Pakistani startups went from having little global awareness to being discussed in the best business school in a couple of years

I keep seeing this myth about Karachi paying 70% of Pakistan’s taxes. Considering over half of Karachi’s collection is from sales and customs tax on imports, that’s essentially a tax that consumers all over Pakistan eventually pay. Can someone do a data driven thread on actuals?

Do you remember why the US boycotted the 1980 Olympics? That was because USSR occupied Afghanistan.
