NEW 64-page book by @SalafiPubs coming soon to @SalafiBookstore, inshā'-Allāh. All proceeds for the daʿwah. A very important topic contextualised for our times: “A Righteous Wife and a Dutiful Husband — In Light of the Qurʾān, the Authentic Sunnah and the Teachings of the Pious Scholars.” From the introduction: Imām ʿAbdul-ʿAzīz ibn Bāz (Allāh's mercy be upon him) said: “A righteous wife is one who is steadfast upon the commands of Allāh. She guards her Prayers by praying them at the correct times. She keeps herself from displaying her beauty when she goes out to the shops. She is well-known for her fine conduct, appearance, and behaviour. This is the righteous wife. So, the woman you want to marry, ask about her [character] due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), “Marry the one with the religion, and you will be successful.” So, if she informs you that she guards her prayers, that she covers herself and does not display her beautification, and she does not involve herself in lying and so on [from the sins], then this is the righteous woman. May Allāh make our affair and your affair easy.” In writing this book, I benefited immensely from the works of scholars who have spoken on and authored in this subject, such as Shaikh Ibn Bāz, Shaikh Al-Albānī, Shaikh Muqbil al-Wādiʿī, and Shaikh Sālih Al-Fawzān.

Who was ash-Shaykh, al-ʿAllāmah, ʿUbayd al-Jābirī? He is the Shaykh and ʿAllāmah, ʿUbayd bin ʿAbd Allāh bin Sulaymān al-Jābirī al-Hamadānī, and Banū Jābir is among the tribes of Ḥarb of the Ḥijāz. He was born in the town of al-Faqīr in al-Farʿ valley in the region of Madīnah in 1357 AH (1938). At the age of eight, he moved with his father to Mahd al-Dhahab, where he acquired the first stages of his education. His father moved there in order to work. He remained in education at this location for eight years. After that, he returned to al-Farʿ valley. Then in 1376 AH (1956) he settled in Madīnah and, due to family circumstances, was unable to study for a period of time. Then in the year 1381 AH (1961), he resumed his studies, starting with Dār al-Ḥadīth al-Madaniyyah. Then he joined al-Maʿhad al-ʿIlmī and stayed there for five years. He got married before joining the Faculty of Sharīʿah in the Islamic University of Madīnah in 1388 AH (1968). He graduated four years later in 1392 AH (1972), excelling in his grade. From his teachers through the course of his studies include: Shaykh Sayf al-Raḥmān bin Aḥmad, Shaykh ʿAmmār bin ʿAbd Allāh, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Raḥmān bin ʿAbd Allāh al-ʿAjlān, Shaykh Ḥumayd al-Ḥāzimī, Shaykh Ḥammād al-Anṣārī and Shaykh ʿAbd al-Muḥsin al-ʿAbbad. After that, he was an imām in Masjid al-Sabt in Madīnah between 1387-1392 AH. Then he was a teacher at ʿUmar bin ʿAbd al-ʿAziz Intermediate School in Jeddah from 1392 AH to 1396 AH. After that, the Shaykh worked as a caller for Markaz al-Daʿwah wal-Irshād, assisting the director of the centre, Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz bin Bāz, in his presence and acting on his behalf in his absence from the end of 1396 AH to 1404 AH (1976-1983). Then he was a teacher at the Islāmic University between the end of 1407 AH to 1414 AH. During his presence there, he also attained a Masters in the subject of tafsīr. After a few years serving at the Community Service Centre affiliated with the Islāmic University, the Shaykh then retired in 1417 AH (1996). After this the Shaykh continued his lectures and lessons, with students from the Islāmic University frequenting his home and benefiting from his knowledge, advice and wisdom. During this period, the Shaykh also aided the Salafi daʿwah tremendously, particularly in the West by way of fatherly advice, clarifications, admonitions and refutations of the people of falsehood and their false innovated principles. The Shaykh had a very strong relationship with the students of knowledge from Maktabah Salafiyyah, Birmingham. The Shaykh has many beneficial works in the field of ʿaqīdah, manhaj, and fiqh. Shaykh Rabīʿ bin Hādī (may Allāh have mercy on him) said of the Shaykh: “Shaykh ʿUbayd is from the esteemed scholars of the Salafīs, and he is known for piety, abstinence and speaking with truth.” Shaykh ʿUbayd was also praised and commended by other Major Scholars such as Shaykh Aḥmad al-Najmī and Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhalī (may Allāh have mercy on them). The Shaykh (may Allāh have mercy on him) passed away at the age of 84 on 28 Rabīʿ al-Thānī 1444 AH, corresponding to 22 November 2022. May Allāh shower him with mercy and reward him greatly for his service to Islām, the Muslims and the Salafī daʿwah. Some of this great scholars works: salafibookstore.com/product-catego…

Dhikr, from a scholarly view, is remembrance of Allāh by the heart, actions of the limbs, actions of the tongue, doing acts of obedience to Him, and keeping away from evil acts of disobedience to Him; and it is not restricted, as some people think, to moving the tongue. The dhikr of Allāh is restricted to what is reported in the Book and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ) – with regard to the wordings, manners, forms and ways of doing dhikr – and what his Companions were upon and what the Salaf acted upon. It takes away any estrangement between the servant and between his Lord, the Exalted and the Most High, because the heedless and neglectful person is such that there is between him and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, estrangement. And this cannot be removed except by remembrance of Allāh.

Who was the Shaykh, the Mutarjim Abū Talhah Dawūd? Abū Talhah Dāwūd Burbank was born on 20 October 1963 in Coalville, Leicestershire, England, into a Christian family. He converted to Islām at the age of 19 whilst studying at the University of Leicester, after reading from a copy of an English language translation of the Qurʾān. In the mid-1980s, he travelled to Saudi Arabia and started his studies at the Islamic University of Madinah, where he met Shaikh Abū Uwais ʿAbdullāh Ahmad (may Allāh have mercy on him) and the two became close companions. Whilst in Madinah, he learned the Arabic language and identified and benefited from the major scholars of the Sunnah, such as Imāms Ibn Bāz, Ibn ʿUthaimīn, Rabīʿ Al-Madkhalī, Hammād Al-Ansarī, Muhammad Amān Al-Jāmī, and others. When he returned from Saudi Arabia, he immediately started to propagate the knowledge of the pure and correct methodology, focusing on clarifying and refuting the deviated ideologies of the misguided sects. His translations, along with those of Shaikh Abū ʿIyād Amjad Rafīq, gave English-speaking Muslims the clarification they so desperately needed to discern true Salafiyyah from versions falsely ascribed to it. From the books he translated were: Explanation of the Creed of Imām Al-Barbahārī, The Methodology of the Prophets in Calling to Allah by Shaikh Rabīʿ, Foundations of the Sunnah of Imām Ahmad (co-translated with Shaikh Abū ʿIyād), and much more besides. He was from the founders of Salafi Publications in 1997, and one of its pillars in the years after. He gave regular lectures for many years at the Salafi Masjid on Wright Street in Birmingham, UK, along with his close companions [from the callers in the West]. He was intelligent, an astute translator and educator, and an expert in the sciences of Hadīth. He was respected by many scholars and recommended by them, such as Shaikh Rabīʿ Al-Madkhalī, Shaikh ʿUbaid Al-Jābirī, Shaikh ʿAbdus-Salām Burjis, and others. He was from the most shy of people, from the most humble and with the least concern for the world and its glitter, and he would put every effort into meticulously following the Sunnah of Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ), knowing fine details of how the Messenger (ﷺ) walked, talked, ate and behaved. Abū Talhah Dāwūd Burbank and his wife; Umm Talhah, both passed away on Tuesday, 1st November 2011 (5th Dhul-Hijjah 1432H) in Saudi Arabia whilst on their way to perform Hajj. May Allāh shower them both with His abundant Mercy.
