Our six new recruit firefighters continue to work hard in training, building the skills they will rely on throughout their careers. Today’s focus was forcible entry techniques—an essential skill used when firefighters need to gain rapid access to a building during an emergency.

#Recall Alert! ⚠️ Purevolt Photoelectric Smoke Detector model SD119-4 recalled. Immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to Addison Électronique for a refund. Consumers should replace the recalled product with one that bears a Canadian certification mark. Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that the product may not meet the Residential Detectors Regulations in Canada. The product does not have a Canadian certification mark and it is unknown if the alarm operates in the presence of smoke, posing a potential fire hazard. Find out more at: bit.ly/4rQowEC

Unattended or Careless cooking is the leading cause of home burns and fires. Always remember to look while you cook. Be alert! Stay in the kitchen while you are frying, grilling, boiling, or broiling food. Use a timer to remind you that you are cooking.
