Sarnia Fire Rescue and The Humane Society are excited to bring you Patsy, our newest Pet Spotlight. Pictured here is firefighter Dylan with Patsy, a 2-year-old Hound mix. She may be shy at first, but she warms up quickly and has a sweet, loving personality.

The one rescue tool that most people seem to know the name of is “The Jaws of Life”. Here @sarniafire_rescue firefighters are taking part in auto-extrication training using the Jaws of Life. These heavy-duty rescue tools can easily cut through metal. 🚒

Our six new recruit firefighters continue to work hard in training, building the skills they will rely on throughout their careers. Today’s focus was forcible entry techniques—an essential skill used when firefighters need to gain rapid access to a building during an emergency.

Sarnia Fire Rescue firefighters are continuing to sharpen their skills through hands-on training with chain saws and rescue saws, while practicing key ventilation techniques used during structure fires. #AlwaysTrainingAlwaysReady

Today, Sarnia Fire Rescue visited Sarnia Christian School to teach students about fire safety and what it’s like to be a firefighter. The children asked some great questions and shared some thoughtful answers throughout the visit. Thank you for the amazing Fire Truck card!
