Arguably the single most controversial change to the education system in the UAE in living memory, the UAE has changed the school age calendar for when little ones begin school. We may be speaking of a change amounting only to just a few months, but the impacts are massive - and the reaction of parents explosive. The upset and debate has, we think, come at a time of perfect storms when parents are already worried about the loss of childhood because of social media - and now children may begin school earlier. For many parents it's more pressure, and more worry - all around the single question of "Am I being a good enough parent for those who mean everything to me?" We look at all the issues - including the impact on schools. We explore too why so many parents are worried, and cut through the misinformation.
