Senator Ben Sasse is my friend. His announcement of metastasized pancreatic cancer is devastating and heartbreaking. Ben was one of the courageous “good guys” in the Senate. He knows where his North Star is. My prayers will be with him and his family.

Senator Mark Kelly is one of our best former military NASA astronaut commanders. It is ridiculous for the Sec. of Defense to threaten to recall him to active duty to court marshall him for saying that “an illegal military order can be disregarded.” Mark told the truth.

Astronaut Jim Lovell has died at age 97. He was a pioneer..Gemini, Apollo 8 the first flight to the Moon, then a miracle of safe return of Apollo 13 after an explosion in flight. Jim was one of the best and a gentleman and devoted husband. Godspeed Jim.

I spoke out against the dangerous consequences of cutting science funding alongside @SenMarkKelly. These attacks don’t just set us back—they create a culture of fear and intimidation that puts lives at risk, including the safety of our astronauts.

Marc Garneau, Canadian Astronaut has died at age 76. He was a trailblazer in our space relationship with Canada and the robotic arm on the shuttle. In Parliament he headed Transport and the Foreign Ministry. Jeremy Hansen who will fly to the moon, follows this Canadian champion.

Now that Butch and Suni are home, I thank the good Lord and the people of NASA for all of their hard work, the testing and retesting to find out why the jets were misfiring. At the end of the day the vote was unanimous to bring them back on Dragon. Thank you.

I was happy to accept Dr. Francis Collins’ invite to join the Stand Up for Science rally to warn about savaging science in the U.S. budget.

Congratulations to NASA for being voted the best place to work in the Federal Govt in 2024! (13 years in a row.) The NASA team that I call wizzards are quite deserving of this honor.

Congratulations to Firefly Aerospace for the 2nd successful lunar landing for a US commercial spacecraft. The CLPS program is to utilize the ingenuity of the private sector to explore the moon with “scouts” in parallel with NASA. Onward to the moon!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the heroic firefighters who protected @NASAJPL from the Eaton Fire—stopping the flames at our lab’s doorstep. Amid so much devastation in recent days, my heart is with our NASA family and everyone in California.
