Last week, Arizona hit triple digits — the earliest date we’ve ever had a 100° day. Families are going to be cranking up the A/C already and feeling it in their power bills. That’s why I’m pushing a new law to fix the outdated formula used to distribute utility assistance so Arizona families can stay safe in this heat.

Americans have had enough of Big Tech companies putting profits before people, and this verdict proves it. @SenJohnCurtis and I will keep pushing to pass our Algorithm Accountability Act to make sure they can be held responsible when their platforms hurt people.

As demand for data centers grows, Arizona needs to balance economic opportunity with the real impacts on water, power, and local communities. We can lead in AI and still do this the right way. My AI for America roadmap shows how data centers can be an asset, not a burden that raises families’ energy bills.

Trump and Republicans knew what would happen if they let health care premiums skyrocket: Americans wouldn’t be able to afford it and families would lose their insurance. Now it’s happening, and they still have no solution. We must keep fighting to bring down the cost of health care.

This is from a gas station in Phoenix yesterday: $6.49 for a gallon of gas. All because Trump started war with no plan and no idea how it would affect everyday Americans. I'm fighting to suspend the federal gas tax to bring families some relief, but what they really need is a president focused on lowering their costs.

I want servicemembers to know I've got their backs. I'm going to keep holding this administration accountable when I think they're making mistakes.

So happy to finally see Arizona native Dennis Coyle released and on his way home to his family after more than a year of being wrongfully detained by the Taliban. I know how relieved his loved ones must be, and I appreciate everyone who played a role in securing his release.

The big winner from Trump’s war so far? Russia. Higher oil prices help fund Putin’s war machine, and sanctions on Russian oil are being loosened to stabilize markets. Putin has Trump’s ear, while the Russians are helping Iran target our troops. That’s not a strategy, it’s an embarrassment.

Not the middle class. The millionaires and billionaires sitting on more wealth than they could ever spend. It’s just not right.” This isn’t a tweak. This game-changing bill takes a sledgehammer to a broken system - and forces a reckoning with the affordability crisis Donald Trump made worse.

How does this make any sense? Trump is gifting billions of dollars to Iran while they’re attacking our servicemembers. Doing this now only puts servicemembers in more danger and threatens to drag this war out even longer. He has no idea what he’s doing.

A national approach to AI makes sense, but it can’t be about taking power away from states. If Washington is going to set rules, those rules need to protect kids, seniors, families, and workers as AI becomes a bigger part of our lives. I’ll work with anyone willing to make that happen.

The President is fundraising off the promise of “private national security briefings” for donors.

On this day in 1945, the USS Midway was christened. I’m proud to be part of the long line of Americans who wore the uniform on that ship. (But I’ve got to admit, the USS Gabrielle Giffords may have taken the top spot.)

I can't imagine how much courage it took Dolores Huerta, Ana Murgia, Debra Rojas, and others to speak out about the abuse they suffered at the hands of Cesar Chavez. They have carried this trauma and pain for decades, some since they were children. It's awful, and I stand with them and all victims of his abuse. In the last 24 hours, so many members of our community in Arizona and across the country have been absolutely devastated by this news. The fight for farmworkers rights has achieved so much and was built on the backs of thousands of men and women, not one person. Their work continues and improves the lives of Americans every day.

Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is down by about 97%. That’s a huge problem for the world economy because nearly 20% of the global oil supply flows through the Strait. What makes it worse is that the oil that is flowing is on Chinese ships and the transactions are in Chinese yuan. That’s not good for the United States or for the U.S. dollar. This is only the latest in a long list of actions taken by Trump that weaken the U.S. economy and our standing abroad. Over time, it's impossible for the world not to question if America should play such a central role in the global economic system. The U.S. benefits from global commerce because American dollars are often involved on one side or the other, but the dollar’s dominance is not a promise and the reserve currency can change over time. If the world begins to transition away from the dollar, it will be viewed as one of the greatest geopolitical blunders of all time. Costs and inflation would rise, which could raise interest rates — all of that is more money out of the pockets of families.  All of this risk and instability could've been avoided if we had a president who considered the fact that Iran could disrupt the Strait of Hormuz before launching a major war. I traveled through the Strait when I was aboard the USS Midway in the First Gulf War. In that war, we had a clear strategy and goal from the start, and we executed our mission without getting caught up in a long, bloody war that cost thousands of American lives. I worry that's where this war with Iran is headed if things don't change. Hundreds of American servicemembers have been injured and more than a dozen have lost their lives already. I don't want to see any more.
