#WATCH | Jaisalmer, Rajasthan: NCERT has removed a controversial map from the Class 8 Social Science textbook that incorrectly depicted Jaisalmer under Maratha rule. Speaking about this, Maharawal Chaitanya Raj Singh, titular head of the Jaisalmer Royal Family, says, "The map of the Maratha kingdom was shown extending into many ancient kingdoms of Rajasthan. The kingdom of Jaisalmer was 16 lakh square miles, and 40% of it is still in Pakistan. As far as our history is concerned, the Maratha kingdom had never come this far. Now, all the changes have taken place and I am very grateful for this. I am happy that this is the name and voice of history and Jaisalmer which can move forward for the people of Jaisalmer. First, they changed the map in Hindi and then in English. This is very good because it is very important for our youth to know history..." (03.04)
