@IberianMantis Very few have the temperament or skills required to write good books (or papers for that matter). An enlightened few mathematicians should be responsible for writing up new results and theories, using the masses of autistic historically-illiterate colleagues as proof-serfs.

The majority of Mathematics books are horribly written, just a collection of abstract definitions and theorems with no concern for presenting the reason or motivation for why those tools had to be developed in the first place, and no attempt at giving an intuitive understanding.
