Despite facing repeated harassment and criminal prosecutions for her online posts and participation in peaceful assemblies - including feminist and LGBTQI+ rallies and protests -, she continues to defend equality and justice fearlessly. As the Advocacy Program Coordinator at the Social Policy, Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Studies Association (SPoD), İris leads efforts to monitor human rights violations, build community-led protection, and push for inclusive policies for LGBTI+ people. 🏳️‍⚧️ happy international trans day of visibility!! i love you. today i want to reintroduce ha jina, the first openly trans korean celebrity. she starred in films like mascara (1995), which is the first film with a trans lead at the forefront. a short film about her transition was later released in 1996. unfortunately many of her films and interviews are considered lost media, but that does not erase the fact that she was a pioneer in queer korean film.
