Go' dag!

🚨Google built an invisible watermark into every image Gemini has ever generated. Over 10 billion pieces of content marked. One unemployed engineer just cracked it open. With 200 black images and math. It's called reverse-SynthID. SynthID is Google DeepMind's invisible watermark. It's embedded at the pixel level into every image, video, audio, and text generated by Gemini. Invisible to the human eye. Designed to survive cropping, compression, screenshots, and format changes. It was supposed to be unbreakable. Here's how he broke it: → Generated 200 pure black and pure white images from Gemini → When you average enough pure-black AI images, every non-zero pixel IS the watermark. Nothing to hide behind. Just the signal, naked. → Used FFT spectral analysis to map the exact carrier frequencies → Discovered the watermark uses a fixed phase template — identical across every image from the same model → Cross-image phase coherence at carrier frequencies: over 99.5% → Built a detector that identifies SynthID watermarks with 90% accuracy → Built a V3 bypass that drops 91% of the phase coherence and 75% of carrier energy — at 43+ dB PSNR. Almost zero visible quality loss. No neural networks. No proprietary access. No leaked code. Just signal processing and too much free time. Here's the wildest part: The green channel carries the strongest watermark signal. The carrier frequencies change based on image resolution. And the entire phase template is fixed — meaning every single Gemini image carries the same fingerprint structure. One engineer. 200 black images. A Fourier transform. That's all it took to reverse-engineer a system protecting 10 billion+ pieces of content. 519 GitHub stars. 39 forks. Python. Research and educational purposes only. 100% Open Source. Dybt amoralsk.

I spent time in Shenzhen last year and when I saw Merz come back from China saying Germans need to work more I immediately knew what broke his brain because I lived the exact same cognitive shock my first week in Huaqiangbei I burned through 4 prototype iterations of a motor controller board for less than a thousand bucks total, back home a friend was working on something similar and spent over 12 thousand for a single revision that took almost two months to arrive when you live that contrast in your own hands with your own project something permanently shifts in how you see the world and it goes way deeper than speed & cost what Shenzhen actually built is a collective learning organism, imagine 20 PCB fabs 15 injection mold shops 30 component distributors and a hundred firmware freelancers all within a 2km radius, looks insanely redundant from the outside until you realize redundancy is actually information density in disguise I watched this firsthand with an injection mold supplier I was working with, this guy had seen a hundred founders iterate similar thermal designs over 6 months so he proactively modified his tooling before I even opened my mouth, he knew what I needed before I knew what I needed, the intelligence lives in the relationships between the nodes and it compounds daily the west thinks about manufacturing as a cost center you optimize by centralizing… China accidentally built a distributed neural network of manufacturing intelligence where knowledge diffuses horizontally across thousands of agents faster than any single western company can process internally so when Merz comes back and says we need to work a bit more I think he saw the problem but COMPLETELY misdiagnosed the solution, telling Germans to work harder is like telling a horse to gallop faster when the other side built a combustion engine the gap is ARCHITECTURAL it’s ecosystem density, you need a custom connector in Shenzhen you walk 200 meters, in Munich you send an email and wait 3 weeks it’s iteration speed, parallel search vs sequential optimization at the system level, it’s risk tolerance, Chinese founders ship something broken on Monday fix it Tuesday ship again Wednesday while European companies are still in the approval phase for the pilot program of the feasibility study… and Merz only saw the surface, what he missed is the tier 2 cities like Hefei Chengdu Wuhan replicating the Shenzhen model at scale right now BYD going from irrelevant to outselling every european automaker combined in roughly 5 years, Huawei building its own 7nm chip under maximum sanctions when every analyst said it was physically impossible & behind all of that a government that treats advanced manufacturing as an existential national priority while europe debates whether AI needs another ethics committee I think what we’re watching is the most asymmetric economic competition in modern history and most western leaders are still framing it as a productivity problem when it’s actually an ontological one Europe & America are optimizing variables that China stopped tracking years ago meanwhile China is compounding on dimensions the west has no framework to even measure Merz at least had the courage to name it out loud and I respect that genuinely but working a bit more inside a broken architecture just means you arrive at the wrong destination slightly faster
Megatron@Megatron_ron

NEW: 🇩🇪🇨🇳 German Chancellor Merz says Germans need to work more in order to match China: “We are simply no longer productive enough. Each individual may say, “I already do quite a lot.” And that may be true. But when you return from China, ladies and gentlemen, you see things more clearly. With work-life balance and a four-day week, long-term prosperity in our country cannot be maintained. We will simply have to do a bit more.”

Trump has decided to send a hospital ship to Greenland. Let’s send a library ship the other way. Fill it with Locke, Montesquieu, and books that are banned like Anne Frank, Harry Potter, and The Handmaid’s Tale. Deploy an army of librarians. The U.S. needs books on the ground.

No thanks!!!! We in Greenland 🇬🇱 are healthy and doing well, sustained by our own traditional foods — including seal blubber, which is rich in vitamins and nutrients that have kept our population strong for generations. Instead, you may want to focus on the internal challenges in the United States, where many citizens are in need of healthcare and cannot afford necessary treatment!

Important issue? All is well here in Greenland. There was one submarine crew member who required hospitalization in Nuuk. He was evacuated by the Royal Danish Navy and is receiving proper care. He is in safe hands with skilled doctors from Greenland and Denmark. There is no need for a hospital ship. Perhaps it would be better to focus on the needs of your own state.

🚨BREAKING: Microsoft Research + Salesforce just dropped a paper that should scare every AI builder. They tested 15 top LLMs GPT-4.1, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, o3, DeepSeek R1, Llama 4 across 200,000+ simulated conversations. Single-turn prompt: 90% performance. Multi-turn conversation: 65% performance. Same model. Same task. Just... talking normally. The culprit isn't intelligence. Aptitude only dropped 15%. Unreliability EXPLODED by 112%. → LLMs answer before you finish explaining (wrong assumptions get baked in permanently) → They fall in love with their first wrong answer and build on it → They forget the middle of your conversation entirely → Longer responses introduce more assumptions = more errors Even reasoning models failed. o3 and DeepSeek R1 performed just as badly. Extra thinking tokens did nothing. Setting temperature to 0? Still broken. The fix right now: give your AI everything upfront in one message instead of back-and-forth. Every benchmark you've seen was tested on single-turn prompts in perfect lab conditions. Real conversations break every model on the market and nobody's talking about it.

The Pentagon just threatened to BLACKLIST one of America's most valuable AI companies. Not Huawei or some Chinese chip maker... It's ANTHROPIC. The company behind Claude. $380 billion valuation. And the reason is genuinely insane: For months, the Pentagon has been pushing every major AI lab to remove their safety restrictions for military use. The ask is simple: let us use your models for anything that's technically legal. Weapons development, intelligence collection, battlefield operations, mass surveillance of American citizens. OpenAI said yes. Google said yes. xAI said yes. Anthropic said no. Not to everything tho. They were willing to negotiate. But they held firm on two things: They don't want Claude used to build fully autonomous weapons that fire without a human in the loop, and they don't want it used to mass surveil American citizens. That's it. That's the line they drew. But Pete Hegseth's response was to threaten to designate Anthropic a "supply chain risk." Here's why that matters: That label isn't a contract cancellation. It's not a fine. It's not a strongly worded letter... It means every single company that wants to do business with the US military has to certify they don't use Claude anywhere in their operations. 8 of the 10 largest companies in America use Claude. Defense contractors, government suppliers, enterprise companies with any federal exposure... ALL of them would have to cut ties with Anthropic overnight or lose their government contracts. A senior Pentagon official told Axios: "It will be an enormous pain in the ass to disentangle, and we are going to make sure they pay a price for forcing our hand like this." That's a US government official threatening to financially destroy an American company because it doesn't want its AI used to spy on American people. And it gets WORSE. Last week, Anthropic's head of safeguards research resigned. His parting message: "the world is in peril." Elon Musk - whose xAI already handed the Pentagon a blank check - is now publicly attacking Anthropic calling Claude anti-human. And the Pentagon official told Axios they're "confident" OpenAI, Google, and xAI will all agree to the "all lawful purposes" standard. So what you're actually watching right now is every major AI company in America quietly handing the government unlimited access to the most powerful technology ever built. With no guardrails. No limits. No company-imposed restrictions on what it can be used for. One company tried to hold a line. But the government is about to make an example out of them. If Anthropic folds, it's over. Every lab just learned what happens when you push back. And every restriction, every safety policy, every ethical guardrail these companies spent years building gets negotiated away behind closed doors the second the government asks. If they don't fold, a $380 billion company gets made radioactive in its OWN country. Watch what happens next. Because whatever Anthropic decides in the next few weeks, it sets the precedent for how much control AI companies actually have over their own technology. Turns out the answer might be: none.
