FACT CHECK: Republicans PASSED a bill TWICE to pay TSA agents and fund DHS. Nearly every Democrat voted against it both times. The truth is Democrats want us to REOPEN our border in exchange for funding Homeland Security, and it’s NOT going to happen!

I was honored to speak this morning at the Catholic National Prayer Breakfast. As we celebrate America’s 250th year, we must remember our commitment to religious liberty — which is an essential foundation of our extraordinary country, and a large part of our national DNA. All of us have a duty to help preserve it.

The Democrats just decided to officially become the party of PUNCHING PUPPIES. 190 Democrats just voted to give illegal immigrants the RIGHT TO PHYSICALLY ABUSE American service dogs — serving with law enforcement protecting American citizens. The level Democrats will go to protect illegal aliens instead of Americans is disturbing, disgusting, and dangerous.

Republicans are working hard to get the SAVE America Act to the President’s desk. It is just common sense to ensure only American citizens can vote and use a  a photo ID when they do. Even 70% of Democrats across the country agree. But Senate Democrats are trying to block it.

DHS is the third-largest department of the federal government — charged with keeping Americans SAFE. Democrats are trying to DEFUND it. Why? They are so desperate to prevent the deportation of criminal illegal aliens that they are forcing 260,000 DHS employees and the American people to pay the price.

Today, I had the solemn honor of attending the dignified transfer of six American heroes who gave their lives in selfless service to our nation. Freedom is never free. It is carried on the shoulders of the brave. We will never forget their courage and sacrifice. Our prayers and hearts are with their families.

Our CBP agents stand on the front lines of America’s defense. They stop transnational crime, deadly drugs, child trafficking, and terrorist threats before they ever reach our communities. And yet, even after four jihadist attacks on American soil — Democrats STILL want to strip their funding. It’s not just wrong — it’s reckless, dangerous, and puts every American at risk.

For four years, Democrats OPENED our borders to millions of illegal aliens—including violent, hardened, repeat criminals. Now that President Trump has secured the border, they want to REVERSE course. Reopen the border. Defund DHS. Protect criminal illegal aliens. Republicans won’t allow it — we are NOT going back.

Democrats are denying the pay of roughly 120,000 employees of the Department of Homeland Security — fueling the third longest shutdown in American history. They REFUSE to reopen TSA and FEMA unless they can reopen our borders for criminal illegal aliens. There is really only one word to describe their position: CRAZY!

The SAVE America Act is aptly named. It protects election integrity—which is essential to preserve our republic. Democrats have zero basis to oppose it!

Delayed at the airport? Thank a Democrat. Democrats have voted REPEATEDLY to PROTECT criminal illegal aliens and PREVENT our own American TSA agents from getting paychecks. Democrats have chosen to make the American people suffer just so illegal aliens can stay in our country.

Democrats are holding TSA agents hostage and putting American lives at risk. Agents are forced to work without pay, struggling to support their families and so far 300 have quit. TSA agents are hurting, airport resources are strained and our national security is being put at risk. Democrats would rather PROTECT criminal illegal aliens than the American people.

The Johnson family joins with everyone else in praying for our dear friend Susie to make a quick and complete recovery.

Thousands of TSA agents will miss their first full paycheck today because radical Democrats in Congress are on a mission to protect criminal illegal aliens by keeping DHS shut down. But EVERY House and Senate Democrat had an opportunity to vote for permanent tax cuts — and EVERY single one voted AGAINST it. It was Republican legislation that delivered tax relief — with zero help from Democrats.
