Compliance gives legitimate users and businesses recourse when something goes wrong. It allows activity to be audited, the source of funds to be proven, and stolen assets to be investigated and potentially returned without exposing unrelated users or the wider pool.

The master key that enables disclosure is held by FPI inside a dual-enclave TEE. It is backed by a 3-of-4 multisig split between @StarkWareLTD and FPI, with a 7-of-12 backup controlled by the Starknet Security Council.

Users are screened when entering the STRK20 Privacy Pool. Once inside, activity remains encrypted. Nothing is disclosed unless a valid lawful request is made and assessed by FPI (Financial Privacy Inc), an independent audit firm. Even then, only the information covered by the request is disclosed: a specific user, transfer or time window.

STRK20 is Starknet's privacy framework for any asset on Starknet. It was designed to make privacy practical: allowing users and businesses to keep onchain activity out of public view, while preserving the auditability and compliance controls needed for real-world use.

My 2026 thesis has been BTC becoming DeFi-efficient, and $STRC pushed that further than I expected. The @Starknet numbers say the shift is still early though. 1,099.9 BTC has bridged in, and only 312.7 BTC of it, a 28.43% utility ratio, is actually deployed. The other 787 BTC just sits idle, more than 2.5x what's working. Found this on Midas by @Aegis_fyi, the closest thing to an explorer built for BTCFi specifically, tracking movement across @vesuxyz, @EkuboProtocol and @avnu_fi in one place instead of checking each protocol separately.
