Easter Sunday Mass with Pope Leo at the Vatican opened with a unique rite recalling St. Peter's witness of the Resurrection at the empty tomb. Two deacons open the doors of the icon of the Most Holy Savior. Another deacon then sings to the assembly: "The Lord has risen from the tomb, who for us hung upon the tree." The faithful respond with the triple alleluia. Turning to the Holy Father, the deacon then sings: "Yes, it is true. The Lord has risen and had appeared to Simon." Another response of the triple alleluia is sung. The Holy Father then venerates the Icon and incenses the image of Christ, the Most Holy Savior.

This morning, Pope Leo celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter in St. Peter's Square with tens of thousands of pilgrims before extending his Urbi et Orbi Blessing.

Our hearts are heavy as we witness the ongoing violence in the Middle East. 💔Reports that the Church of the Holy Sepulchre—one of the holiest sites in Christianity—has been indefinitely closed due to missile strikes. Let us continue to pray for peace!

Holy Saturday—a day of silence, stillness, and sacred waiting. The tomb is sealed, the world holds its breath, and hope rests in the quiet. Even in the darkness, God is at work. Tonight, we keep vigil, preparing our hearts for the radiant joy of the Resurrection. Join us at 8pm.
