@SteelManX @elonmusk @Variety I’ve seen several well done adaptations of Sherlock Holmes where Moriarty is a woman. If done well, the story shines just as bright.
That’s why we see Romeo and Juliet reimagined across every slice of humanity. I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a soggy Snow White out there.

For stories I enjoy I still rather people stick with traditional casting choices, gender included. I can't think of many success stories because the original choice fits with the story unless it is intentionally funny or it easily fit.
I wouldn't want to watch Snow White reimagined as a male mermaid. Just write a new story.
