@scratch Q6. I've been inspired by @SueCusack who designed Scratch projects for for students with limited physical mobility -> having students trigger sprites and block scripts by using a physical @makeymakey switch made from cardboard and conductive materials. @Scratch #ScratchChat

In 2022 my digital art has been on view at the Smithsonian, Carnegie Hall, the Umbrella Arts Center (MA), and now Lincoln Center (today). At least one of my pieces is in a permanent collection at the Smithsonian. Leah Buechley kind of predicted it in her Forward for my book.

Far too many Americans fear and hate math. Sadly, this is often related to the way they were taught math in school. Stanford professor @joboaler is one of the authors of a new California Mathematics Framework which is addressing this problem. I support this effort.

Very excited to see my colleague, @nettieb included in a conference commemorating the work of Bob Moses, and joining civil rights & education activists to focus on ensuring educational opportunities to support engaged citizenship for black youth in a 21st century.

I was asked to lead a discussion about artivism today at the Bob Moses convening. I was unsure of the time and thought no one showed up but I was early. Over 30 people joined, including my supervisor. Tomorrow, I'll lead a discussion about AI and Black consciousness.

It was a circuit-filled day in @HInclusion CS and Engineering classes! Intro to Eng students showed off their scale model rooms, complete with electricity! And 8th grade CS students used @scratch and @makeymakey to make sound machines 🎶
