I don't buy that the hate against Black people is only about their skin color. There has to be something bigger behind it because no society would set up all its power, laws, and culture just to hold people down over a simple difference in skin shade

1. 123 years ago, French colonizers in Central Africa murdered a Black man by inserting dynamite into his 🍑 & blowing him apart to terrorize the population. They bragged about it. Colonialism was not “civilizing.” It was genocide, torture, theft, & racial terror. Never forget.

Joshua Leonard created animated superheroes with special needs after realizing Black animators represent less than 3%. What started as a kindergarten lesson from his brother on drawing Garfield evolved into something much bigger by high school. Leonard developed an animated series concept featuring kids with special needs who possess superpowers, driven by the stark industry reality. The statistics hit him hard when he discovered the animation industry's representation gap. Instead of accepting the status quo, he channeled his artistic passion into purposeful storytelling that breaks barriers on multiple fronts. His series addresses racial representation behind the camera while creating authentic disability representation on screen in a traditionally overlooking genre. Leonard told Because of Them We Can that his mission was clear: create something so exceptional and inclusive it couldn't be ignored. Leonard's approach proves powerful content comes from personal conviction meeting industry necessity. By combining his childhood love of drawing with adult understanding of systemic gaps, he is positioned to change animation from the inside out. His series is more than entertainment—it's a direct challenge to an industry that has historically excluded the communities it celebrates. When creators take representation into their own hands, they redefine what's possible.

Women are sharing live locations, checking the backseats of cars, carrying their keys between their knuckles and holding their hands over their drinks. Men are doing 3 hour podcasts about how unfair it is that women don't smile at them.

Why force kids to cut their hair, which tends to affect them mentally and create self-hate as they grow? We need to stop this colonial mentality brought into Africa during the colonial era.

70% of Americans are struggling to afford groceries, housing, and healthcare, and there is a genocide in Gaza and Lebanon. Fuck the Met Gala.
