@BrianCooksonOBE @cpacycling @HansenAdam One challenge Brian is a thin strong material which would prevent wounds would likely still generate significant enough heat on contact with the road resulting in friction burns. Its a tough problem to solve.

This is an awful & no doubt very painful injury. I salute Luc’s bravery. But here’s a thought. Is it really beyond the wit of textile manufacturers to make a fabric that is both breathable in heat and offers a degree of crash resistance? Or even a thin heat-conducting base layer?

It started snowing while we were in Bowness this morning and got heavier as we drove to Ambleside. Thank goodness we decided to turn back and come home as it sounds like mayhem up there now.
