Kudos to Carson Beck for suggesting to UM OC Dawson at halftime that he should run up the middle more (as we and others were suggesting at the time). Dawson: "I could have done better play calling, looking back at it. Carson felt running right at them was a good way to attack them the second half, said we're pushing them around in the middle. Ultimately, running right at them was the right way to go....I'm not always patient. It's easy to get impatient and start trying to throw the ball around the yard on a day it wasn't working like that. What we had going for us that they didn't is we could run the football.[Carson's] input was awesome."

This year I really focused on making the right reads, understanding coverages, and fixing our protections so the offense could run clean. Coach Hines pushed me a lot and it helped my game take a big jump. Right now I’m top-3 in the state in completion percentage, with 2104 passing yards and 26 touchdowns so far. If you watch my film from the start of the season to now, you can see how much I’ve grown as a QB and a leader.
