Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it. But in Zimbabwe's case, the repetition is not accidental. It is architectural. The same script. The same characters. The same fatal confidence. Only the names have changed.I say this not as a partisan. I say this as a soldier who has spent a lifetime studying the patterns of power how it is accumulated, how it is abused, and how, invariably, it destroys those who mistake proximity to it for ownership of it. The G40 Lesson Nobody Learned Cast your mind back to the final years of Former President Robert Mugabe's rule. Those of us watching from within the security establishment observed with growing alarm the behaviour of the faction that came to be known as G40. Led from the First Family itself, emboldened by access and patronage, they celebrated loudly and insulted freely the military leadership, the liberation credentials, the institutional pillars of the republic. They were certain. Absolutely certain. That they had won. They had not won. They had merely accumulated positions, proximity, and the dangerous illusion that the two were the same thing. November 2017 was not simply a military intervention. It was the inevitable consequence of a faction that confused the President's favour with the nation's mandate. When the two came apart, everything they had built came apart with them. The Mirror Cracks. It is with genuine sorrow not triumphalism that I observe in 2026 an uncannily familiar formation taking shape around the ED2030 nonsense constitutional agenda.A constellation of individuals who have grown extraordinarily wealthy through their proximity to State House now appear to be the most energetic champions of Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3. Their enthusiasm is not difficult to understand. A constitutional extension of the current dispensation is, for them, an extension of the conditions that made their accumulation possible. It is business continuity dressed as patriotism. This is not a vision for Zimbabwe. It is an insurance policy for a balance sheet. The G40's ambitions had nothing to do with the People's Agenda. They were about protecting and expanding the interests of a small circle whose fortunes were tied to one man's continued hold on power. What I observe today follows the same logic primitive accumulation seeking constitutional protection through a process that bypasses the sovereign will of the Zimbabwean people. I note, as I noted in the G40 era, that certain figures who ought to know better choose to linger at the edges of these formations neither fully inside nor fully outside. History has not been kind to such positioning. It is not a place of safety. It is a place of complicity without the cover of conviction. The Zimbabwe Defence Forces did not intervene in November 2017 to install a dynasty. It intervened to restore constitutional order and the principles of the liberation struggle. Any agenda from any quarter that seeks to use the Constitution as a tool of elite self-preservation rather than national progress must be examined with the full rigour that the institution's oath demands. The men and women of the ZDF took an oath to Zimbabwe. Not to a faction. Not to a business network. Not to an amendment. God is sovereign over Zimbabwe. He was sovereign in November 2017. He remains sovereign in 2026. The script is familiar. So is the ending. Lt. Gen. Winston Sigauke Mapuranga (Rtd).

#BhaskorONews!! 🔹Another failed assassination attempt on VP Chiwenga’s life on 17/04/2026! Albert Tizwa, Military Intelligence Officer (MIO) Presidential Guard Harare Region, who was supposed to be busy at the Independence Day celebrations in Mapisa, but instead was busy running Kubakwake’s dirty errands. Tizwa is supervised by Brig Gen Mhonda, and he was caught in Newlands carrying a bag of money coming from the offices of Kubakwake, the TEMU president. The money has been confiscated, and he is under arrest and investigation. Tizwa was resisting arrest from the ZRP crack team, and he pulled out an AK47, in law, the officer of his rank is supposed to be in possession of a pistol, not an AK47. 🔸The information with V11 indicates that he was on a mission to assassinate VP Chiwenga and Gen Sanyatwe with instructions coming from his handlers. Both Kubakwake and his sidekick, Brig Gen Mhonda, have been trying to force the police to release him to no avail, thanks to Commissioner of Police Mutamba for heeding the call of duty. TEMU president has crossed the Rubicon, and I wonder what he is hoping to achieve with this. Tizwa is the same guy who led the beating of Professor Madhuku during the #CAB3 consultations, which was one of the 24 operations assigned to him by his handlers, the TEMU president and his sidekick Mhonda. For more news, stay tuned at #BhaskorONews, the Champions of the beckoning future ZW🫶🇿🇼! #NoTo2030!!
