In a front page article in @nytimes this morning WNBA player A’Ja Wilson says the reason she isn’t marketable is racism, “It’s 100% about race.” Ah, yes, if only black athletes could finally overcome racism and get marketing deals.

The first slaves in America weren’t African, they were Irish. Men, women, and children were sold, starved, and worked to death. Their suffering was buried for centuries. Here’s the dark & forgotten truth about Ireland’s hidden history of slavery:

Before becoming Pope, listen to what Cardinal Prevos had to say about service. It's too bad fascist despots like Trump and Vance don't take this message to heart. Sadly, instead of serving the American people, they only serve their own avarice and greed.

The VA has a list of 585 contracts they've cancelled, impacting veteran care. Have they shown us the list despite numerous requests? No. Today, @SecVetAffairs refused to answer my direct questions about that list — further raising my concerns about the VA's lack of transparency.

Biden’s Infrastructure Act helped expand the FAA but when Pete Buttigieg went to the House of Representatives and asked for funding to hire 3000 more air traffic controllers, Republicans said no because they don’t want to give Pete a win. This is why we’re in this mess.

On April 24th, armed ICE agents broke into a home occupied by a family of American citizens in Oklahoma City in the middle of the night. The family repeatedly said we are citizens, you have the wrong people. ICE broke down the door, terrorized the family, ripped apart the entire house. It's not other people that this is happening to. It's us. Due process is not some pie in the sky idea. It's what literally holds our country together. This family is all of us. Open your eyes. Wake the hell up.

BREAKING: In a stunning moment revealing how scrambled Trump’s brain is, he was asked by Stephen A. Smith about his fight with Harvard —and started ranting about people rioting in Harlem and how he “got a very high Black vote.” The man is mentally gone.

20 armed ICE agents detain mom & 3 daughters dressed only in underwear outside in the rain for hours—they are all U.S. citizens. Agents took their phones, laptops & life savings in cash—even after proving they weren't suspects. "They wanted me to change in front of all of them - in all of between them," said the mother. "My husband has not even seen my daughter in her undergarments—her own dad, because it’s respectful. You have her out there, a minor, in her underwear." The family had just moved into the Oklahoma City home from Maryland—perhaps ICE was looking for the previous owners—but agents refused to answer any questions. ICE agents did not even leave a business card—the family has no idea how to get back their phones, electronics, and cash. "What if I would have been armed," the mother said. "You’re breaking in. What am I supposed to think?" #DemVoice1 #wtpBLUE #DemsUnited

Pope Francis’s personal wealth at the time of his death was just $100, or less than 90 euros. He had no property, no personal bank accounts, and no investments. According to the British newspaper Mirror, Pope Francis was entitled to an annual salary of about 340,000 euros since he was elected Supreme Pontiff in 2013. However, as a member of the Society of Jesus, he had taken a vow of poverty and decided never to receive that salary during his entire pontificate. Instead of living in the luxurious papal apartments used by his predecessors, Francis chose to reside in the Casa Santa Marta, a small residence within the Vatican, where he led a much simpler life. During his pontificate, he rejected many luxuries and maintained a modest routine, despite having all necessary expenses covered by the Vatican, such as food, travel, security, and accommodation.. #everyonefollowers #highlighteveryone #copiedpost #PopeFrancis #popefrancisnews

Remarkable that a gravely ill Pope Francis lived just long enough to issue one more impassioned Easter plea for peace, for justice, for compassion for the most vulnerable. Let his final earthly words be a prod to the consciences of our leaders and all mankind.

Pope Francis was the rare leader who made us want to be better people. In his humility and his gestures at once simple and profound – embracing the sick, ministering to the homeless, washing the feet of young prisoners – he shook us out of our complacency and reminded us that we are all bound by moral obligations to God and one another. Today, Michelle and I mourn with everyone around the world – Catholic and non-Catholic alike – who drew strength and inspiration from the Pope’s example. May we continue to heed his call to “never remain on the sidelines of this march of living hope.”

BREAKING: This is one of the most chilling Judicial opinions I have ever read. The Conservative 4th Circuit Federal Appeals court Judge in the Abrego Garcia case stated: "The way that the administration is behaving appears to signal a crumbling of American democracy”. He then begs the administration to "follow the Constitution in a way that preserves American Democracy while there is still time”. The Judge Continues: “If today the Executive claims the right to deport without due process and in disregard of court orders, what assurance will there be tomorrow that it will not deport American Citizens and then disclaim responsibility to bring them home? And what assurance shall there be that the Executive will not train its broad discretionary powers upon its political enemies?”
