@Peppymintyy Smash probably had something to do with it too; longer limbs are easier to fight with. Now that it’s an institution, many Nintendo properties are subtly being changed by its influence. (Sometimes not so subtly, Captain Falcon never actually did a Falcon Punch in an F-Zero game!)

Changing the entire series artstyle to one that looks weird by comparison and is nowhere near as iconic as the original one JUST to add a new clothes slot that most ppl only even change every 6 months feels so not worth it. And u could've had it without the tall chars too

I don't dislike ACNL but was it really worth making the characters weird and tall instead of stubby just to introduce pants customization? I hate the NL onwards tall designs, doesn't feel worth it just for the sake of ppl deciding khakis or jeans lol. Short characters were cuter

@TeeAitchAre Those games suck. I played them. They should stay on the GameCube. And don’t get me wrong maybe during that era they were great but they’ve aged pretty badly imo.
