Egusi is locked in and ready for launch. At exactly 5:09 PM Nigerian time (12:09 PM Florida time), a SpaceX Falcon 9 will lift off from Cape Canaveral, carrying Egusi seeds from Oyo State to the International Space Station. This will mark the first time seeds from Nigeria, and any agricultural crop from West Africa, are sent into space. The mission will study how egusi behaves in microgravity and what role it can play in the future of food for space exploration. Thanks to @KarmanProject and @JaguarSpace_LLC for making this possible. . #EgusiToSpace #MadeInNigeria #SpaceForCulture #EgusiInOrbit #NigerianScience #ScienceWithoutBorders #OyoToOrbit

Today, I am incredibly proud. After an intense and inspiring S-VCG Bootcamp, we awarded ₦2.2 billion in grants to 45 outstanding student ventures — young Nigerians turning bold ideas into real solutions. What began with over 30,000 applications from 404 tertiary institutions came down to 65 finalists, and today 45 innovators emerged as winners, representing institutions across Nigeria. The winners come from federal, state, and private universities, with the majority from public institutions — proof that talent and innovation exist in every corner of our country. A moment that stood out for me was seeing 8 winners from the University of Lagos, many of whom came through our Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Business Incubation Certification (EIBIC) programme — a tried-and-tested pathway we are building to move students from ideas to real ventures. That is exactly the vision behind EIBIC: not just teaching entrepreneurship, but building founders, innovators, and builders. The Student Venture Capital Grant is more than funding — it is belief in the next generation. My sincere thanks to our panel of evaluators and judges, whose expertise and careful assessment helped identify these outstanding ventures. I am also deeply grateful to our partners, @BOINigeria, Afara Initiative and Elsie Attafuah of UNDP, for their support in making this programme a success. To our 45 winners — congratulations. To the 65 finalists — you have already shown what the future of Nigeria looks like. Nigeria’s next generation of innovators is already here — and they are just getting started. 🚀 #SVCGJourney #IdeasToImpact #FutureFoundersNG #StudentInnovators #BuildInNigeria

The official take home package of a Governor is about ₦8M annually. That is ₦32M in 4 years. If party nomination fee is ₦100M (excluding money for campaign and election day), it means we actually expect politicians to steal when elected. Politics have become too expensive.
Omotayo Williams@KadunaResident

APC Nomination Fees — Then vs Now 2015: President: ₦27.5m Governor: ~₦5.5m Senate: ~₦3.3m House of Reps: ~₦2.2m State Assembly: ₦500k 2027: President: ₦200m Governor: ₦150m Senate: ₦100m House of Reps: ₦70m State Assembly: ₦20m

Always great speaking with the @BBC ! I sat down with the BBC to discuss the African space industry. I talked about the inauguration of the African space industry and how leveraging space technology is going to directly benefit everyday Africans, transform our agriculture and shape the continent's future.
