Watching Celtic v Hearts today, in the hope of an upset. An FA Cup with Man City - Chelsea is a non-event. Media trying to make the City 'third time lucky' narrative compelling as if 24 Wembley appearances under Pep, fuelled by oil money and 115 charges is a moment of joy.

The genius of Withnail and I is that it’s the greatest comedy ever made, yet there’s not only no real jokes, a lot of it isn’t even funny by nature. I’ve been thinking about this piece of dialogue for about an hour and laughing my head off: “Indeed I often wonder where Norman is now. Probably wintering with his mother in Guildford. A cat, rain, Vim under the sink, and both bars on. But old now, old, there is no true beauty without decay.” To read that on the page, it’s not even funny. But within the film, it becomes hysterical. That’s down to the brilliance of Bruce Robinson’s script. It’s razor sharp, not a word wasted. His direction is fantastic too. Between Marwood’s voiceover and the way we enter the scene just as these words roll out of Monty’s never-ending diatribe, it feels like we too have been roaming the fields with him for hours. Then there’s the acting, the way these actors bring flesh and blood to the characters until they feel completely lived in. We never get the backstory, but you instantly know there were all kinds of salacious antics behind Monty and Norman’s estrangement. That’s the magic of the film. It creates an entire world that feels like it existed long before we arrived and carries on after we leave. Much like Monty ponders where Norman is, fans can’t help wonder the same about the characters of this movie, so real they seem.

That's because he's a manager all about winning but the last nine years have seen him bombed out of a number of big clubs for lack of titles.

Hi Gary. I know you're a big supporter of Jose. I know he's been great for you and vice-versa. That's fine. I have enormous respect for what he achieved in the first half of his coaching career. I just can't get share your excitement at his run to the Carabao Cup final with Spurs (a bye to beat Leyton Orient, a penalty shoot-out win over Chelsea and two wins against Championship teams) or winning the Conference League final with Roma (beating CSKA Sofia, Zorya Luhansk, Vitesse, Bodo/Glimt (win one in four meetings), Leicester and Feyenoord). Winning Roma's first European trophy obviously carries huge weight, but, as with Chelsea in the Conference League last season, the competition was so weak that I don't think anyone can portray it as some kind of managerial masterclass. I thought Roma's run to the Europa League a later was more creditable than either of the above. This season's Champions League run was impressive too (beating Ajax, Napoli and Madrid). "About to go invincible" with Benfica sounds great, but it's 19 wins and nine draws from 28 games and Porto have won the league with two games to spare. Respectfully, you can't come second with a club the size of Benfica, nine points adrift of Porto, drawing at home and away to Casa Pia, and be talking up an "invincible" season

So a majority of Brits object to being replaced by third-world immigrants and having their culture erased. @_Zeets @Alex_Wellman A Prwmuwr League club would've got the best legal advice on this rather than wing it. Even so, guilty or not there is safety risk of fielding a player in front of a large crowd so soon after these allegations became public.

So, you can suspend a player for violating a code of conduct separately from what might happen with the police and the courts. I was told that this was impossible and that managers and teams have no choice but to continue fielding and championing the player.
