The WVSSAC recognized 14 basketball officials for years of service during the 2025 Boys Basketball State Tournament. 50 years: Bob Sparks 45 years: Lou Peake 40 years: George Chafin, Steve Gandee, Randy Robinette 35 years: Melvyn Coleman Jr., Dillard Tate, Rick Tobin 30 years: Mike Lemons, Richard Lewis, Junior Phillips, Jay Rutledge Congratulations to all honorees on their dedication to student athletes and West Virginia high school athletics.

On Friday, the WVSSAC presented Dave Marshall of Bridgeport High School with three coaching honors: the Van Metter West Virginia Boys Basketball Coach of the Year, the NFHS Section 2 Boys Basketball Coach of the Year, and the NFHS National Coach of the Year for Boys Basketball.
