Yesterday's Covid‑19 Inquiry report found that extraordinary efforts by healthcare staff prevented the NHS from collapsing during the pandemic. Doctors and their colleagues carried this burden at immense personal cost. They worked in unsafe conditions, faced trauma and moral injury, as well as burnout that many are still living with today.
