So they stepped in and did the work. They curated over 5,000 phytochemicals from 105 African medicinal plants, bringing them into one accessible resource for drug discovery and future research. This is what HackBio is about. Not just learning.

This is what it looks like when interns show up and do the work. A team from HackBio worked on a biocuration project that has now been accepted at the International Biocuration Conference in Cape Town — the first time this global event is being hosted on African soil.
